This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally. The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous.

Please scroll down slowly and give due consideration to each line.

==============================================

THE SITUATION:

You are in Richmond Virginia, on the James River to be specific. There is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding. This is a flood of biblical proportions. You are photojournalist working for a major newspaper, and you're caught in the middle of this epic disaster.

The situation is nearly hopeless. You're trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people swirling around you, some disappearing under the water. Nature is unleashing all of its destructive fury.

==============================================

THE TEST:

Suddenly you see a man and a woman in the Water. They are fighting for their lives, trying not to be taken down with the debris. You move closer. Somehow they look familiar.

You suddenly realize who they are. It's Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi!! At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take them under forever. You have two options:

You can save their lives or;

You can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the deaths of two of the world's most powerful people.

==============================================

THE QUESTION:

Here's the question, and please give an honest answer...

Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

i would try to save them as i would hope someone would try for me.humans are human, no matter your belief or view. if that was you, would you want saved?.

What. Are you crazy. I'm not the Paparazzi. conversing I don't want a photo as proof that I could have saved them instead of taking their picture.

I was heading the opposite way, that my choice would be to take the career-making shot. After all, I'm not risking my life to save some danged politicians lives. rolling on the floor laughing

Since it was only what type of film, I'd go with classic black and white since I think that captures the drama of such scenes better. wine

After due consideration ( .33 seconds ), my spontaneous decision is the high contrast color film.

And BTW, thank you for asking.

Hope things are well for you in Kabul.

Keep your head down, right?

There were two questions - and the first question (under the heading of 'THE TEST' gave one the choice of saving their lives. I'd choose to save the lives of the two people (assuming I could) and it would make no difference who they were.

The second question (under thev heading 'THE QUESTION') totally conflicted with the first and is therefore not worthy of an answer.

Was it meant to be a joke?

(if meant to be a joke it just wasn't funny in the context of the scenario given in my opinion).

I'd quickly tie some rope round 'NAKEDMUDPEOPLE' my film camera side-kick and throw her in with the other end tried to my tree (I always carry 50 metres of climbing rope in my left trouser pocket together with a clean handkerchief and my wallet).

I'd then take multiple pics using both my cameras in both glorious colour and black and white of 'NAKEDMUDPEOPLE' valiantly swimming either round in circles until she drowned or making a heroic rescue.

If she drowned I'd haul her dead body back and drape it over a branch in such a way as to make her look absolutely wonderful, but kinda sad at the same time...... I might even stick a dead fish in her mouth for added dramatic value.

One would hope that the picture would be at least as heart-rendering as the photo of the little girl in Vietnam running along the road with her poor little body burnt by napalm........ that's a photo-journalist pic that will stayed burned into my brain until the day I die as it brought out the stark reality of innovent life being destroyed by war.
