It's just a wild guess but perhaps the non-reply means this person simply felt unworthy of attention you provided her with. Perhaps your kindness was something she had not experienced and so she ran from you.

I guess I have been quilty of this too. Sometimes I get busy and don't touch my computer for days. Other times, the conversation just seems to run out, and I can't think of any reply that is worth sending.

I think from now on, I'll comment right away about distance and the lack of likelyhood that we would ever hook up. I think local or within 100 miles has a better chance of a real date.

Mountainman- i have sent you 2 flowers you thanked me for both you have answered every letter i wrote, as i have answered every letter you wrote, the thing with these dating sites, (im in 5 of them) they do all say they want honesty, well I ask who's honesty? I have been completley honest with everyone i've talked to. I talked to one guy for 4 months & between instant messaging & on the phone conversations, i felt he was an honest decent man, so i invited him to my home he came we spent 3 wonderful days together laughted talked & were very comfortable with each other, I asked if we would see each other again & he assured me we would, he said he would call me when he got home so i knew he made it safely, well guess what, you got it, i haven't heard one word from him. I have e-mailed him once asking for a reason, i've called him twice & left messages, but he will not contact me. I was very crushed & hurt & embaressed, i beleived him trusted that he was who he was saying he was but boy did i learn a lesson, so beware there are all kinds of people out there who are anything but honest! but i will remain honest but alot more causaus.

I'm with arebella on this one, and I do tend to reply to men who write or flower me.

I'm not into the distance dating thing and I like to lay it all out on the plate, so to speak.

Some people like to write and see how they are read. Some people write and like people to write back. Some people write for the enjoyment of writing. Some people write but then don't know what to say. Some people write and then run away. Writing helps and it is the first way we get to know others on here. I like writing but the dear john letters really get to me.

sometimes you dont respond because your not interested and you have told people you arent so they answer with a rude e-mail so now i just respond to who sounds good.As to people who allow strangers into their home because you talked on the phone for a couple of months,how stupid are you? a person is a stranger regardless.you can say anything in e-mail ,on the phone too. Have to say, a couple of months is time enough to meet someone...Just my opinion. Depends on each situation. Take responsibilty forthe actions, ohh yes. However, NOONE deserves to be hurt because they open up. Noone asks for that.

I hide in virtual and hide in reality but today I hugged my mother and was honest with her. I told her I was hungry and she told me to come over whenever I needed to. She didn't make fun of me because I can't hold back my tears. I talked to my friend who mows my grass. Everyone has seen my tears in the physical world and they are concerned for me. There is nothing like being yourself when you can. I told my mother that I asked my daughter to move back in with me. She thought it was a good idea because there is a college not far from here. I have a feeling that daughter will try on her own but I left the option opened just in case it was too much for her. So what if she is 18 and wants to move back with family. Her choice and not mine but I left the option open just in case.
