Prophecies to Identify the Messiah Which Jesus Does Not Fulfill:
Matthew 1:23 says that Jesus (the messiah) would be called Immanuel, which means "God with us." Yet no one, not even his parents call him Immanuel at any point in the bible.

The Messiah must be a physical descendant of David (Romans 1:3 & Acts 2:30). Yet, how could Jesus meet this requirement since his genealogies in Matthew 1 and Luke 3 show he descended from David through Joseph, who was not his natural father because of the Virgin, this prophecy could not have been fulfilled.

Isaiah 7:16 seems to say that before Jesus had reached the age of maturity, both of the Jewish countries would be destroyed. Yet there is no mention of this prophecy being fulfilled in the New Testament with the coming of Jesus, another Messiah prophecy not fulfilled.

Immanuel was a theological stamement about who Jesus was and not his name.

Mary was married to Joseph before Jesus was born so he inherited David lineage through the marriage.

Israel and Judea did not exist as countries under the Roman occupation at the time of Jesus birth. Israel only returned to being a nation again in 1947.

From an historical perspective there isnt actually a lot of evidence of the life of Jesus, it is mostly stuff in the Bible which wasnt compiled till centuries after He supposedly died - I prefer to let the facts speak for themselves, i.e. what we do actually know as opposed to what we'd like to believe and what we do know is that there are many contradictions in the Bible - some put this down to errors of translation but this raises the the question of Gods words being supposedly infallible and the Bible supposedly innerent - go figure......

It was the rulers of most countries who embraced Christianity - have a look at the history of forced conversions and they tell a very different tale to the one used to indoctrinate the children. Just the European experience and the very existence of the Malleus Maleficarum (the witch hunters handbook) show just how gentle this religion truly is...... As for your observance of the above situation, they are just a few of the many contradictions.

not quite true!!! Moses means crossing over yet Moses is called Moses.

nope blood lines were very important back then as much as they are today you cannot inherit genomes/genetics via marriage.

Israel and Judea did not exist as countries under the Roman occupation at the time of Jesus birth. Israel only returned to being a nation again in 1947.

that is an excuse for it. The point is the prophesy has not been fulfilled.

Em I think you'll find that Christianity isn't number one on the world religeon hit parade. Then there's the small matter of the basis in pain, suffering and manipulation..hardly the actions of a loving God.

Let's see, I'm going to sit back and do nothing while my son goes through a slow execution. Then we're going to have a new religeon with the instrument of that execution as it's symbol.Again, am I the only one that has a problem with this. Just as well they didn't have lethal injection. Just imagine a big hypodermic on the roofs of the churches.

I'm not advocating evil. The bible seems to do that quite nicely. I wonder if it's more to do with the will of man than the will of God. I suspect man has created God in his own image.conversing

I too and many people have the same problem with this theology. I mean people around the world die to protect animals but a loving good who can crate everything in the universe within 6 days couldn’t come up with a better option? doh

And the next thing you r gonna say is that there is no Santa or easter bunny...uh oh

The Bible was written by people , not by Jesus or God...

and if you look at any history book about some "facts".. you will see that its been written by the winers and has`nt much truth in it

the point is

its a matter of choice ,in what we believe

trying so chance the convictions of a person who is already formed

is useless

science has`nt got all the answers , as well as our knowledge about
theology or the existence of a higher being
