Now, do you agree or not?

If you have not watched this video and believe there will be a rapture of the church, your argument will be ignored.

I am allowing this video to be the standard of this argument, the plum line, if you will.

We will then judge on the preponderance of the evidence (who is the most believable).

Also, please play NICE! No name calling or rudeness!
Athiests, feel free to comment, but this should not concern you really, as you are not part of the church of God, since you do not believe in him.

I put this up for discussion for the Christian believers.

Jesus what a tedious 6:57.
With all due respect Healthy,I suggest you take your Rapture where you find it and stop being a victim of charlatans in one guise or another.

HL, I can't watch the video at work, but will comment on the Rapture, and my belief regarding it. I think it coincides with all of the other prophecies like the Mayan 2012 and the Native American 7th Fire prophecies. Some evolutionary leap is going to happen to us very soon, we're preparing for it on many levels, and I see the Rapture as just another prophecy relating to this.

Have a great day, and I hope your thread stays polite and on topic. hug

I always thought that "Rapture" idea was invented to create an 'us' against 'them' feeling withing the "Church".
And the whole idea comes from one line, one sentence in the Bible.
Obviously, that sentence has been misinterpreted and blown way out of proportions ( it's a lie, ok? I said it.

And one would think such an event, such an extraordinary event, would deserve to be noted in more ample ways than just : "...and we will be changed in a blink of an eye...blah,blah )

Just seems to be about Christians trying to frighten other Christians into becoming orthodox. I see the jews got their customary dig...oh and that bit about the Jews being re-established in Israel; that's man's work, not Gods. Balfour Declaration and all that. I think Hitler tried to do the same in Eastern Europe but failed. He called it Lebensraum I think.

Anyhoos, the earth was here long before homosapiens arrived and I suspect it will be here long after we've gone. I wouldn't call it the Rapture, just nature. This is our time. Once we poison her enough, Mother Earth will stop sustaining us and we will die off. Then the next dominant creature will take it's turn.

There is a rapture when he returns in the clouds we will be caught up in the air with him(Jesus) and the saints and the angels the question is then when will he return.

The Generation that sees israel become a state.

I suspect you are right... It doesn't really matter to me. As long as my life force, my energy, goes somewhere useful and my Awareness is used in Good, I don't care what happens back here on Earth.
This planet isn't for our sole use and purpose, even if the Patriarchal minds like to make us believe that.

I'm an earthy person. I can stare at grass, trees and water for hours and feel absorbed. I class myself as Pagan. The Christians seem to think that is the same as a Satanist. That's why they built over our spiritual sites and put their feast days on top of ours like Christmas day. They couldn't destroy paganism, so they buried it. But I reckon if you scratch the surface of most Celts like myself, you'll find a pagan underneath. And when they bury me in my wooden coffin, I will feed the grass and the trees and the birds and the bees continuing the life cycle. As to my spirit, I think that's eternal. It always was and always shall be.

Can't be spending the little time I have alive worrying about that little old Rapture now. One thing for sure though, that everybody alive today will have to die one day. That's the catch. You can't have the gift of life without the knowledge that death walks beside you every step of the way.wave

I agree that the pre-tribulation rapture is false.
But the Zionist doctrine promoted by that video is even more false.

There will indeed be a time when Christians are caught up to meet Jesus in the air.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

But when does it take place?

Mt 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,... 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: ... and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels ... and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

So much for the "pre-trib rapture".
The video is correct on that point.

But now for the film's BS.

The video's doctrine is Christian Zionist or more specifically "Hebrew Roots".

The Hebrew Roots movement holds that traditional Christianity is very mistaken concerning the message of Christ, and they, the Jews, are now come to set us all straight.

They generally claim that their special insight comes from some sort of secret scriptures that they have kept hidden for all the centuries, proving that Jesus was totally different than the way Christianity describes him.

Here's an example of that from a Hebrew Roots website.

"In my new book, The Hebrew Yeshua vs. the Greek Jesus, I explore the ancient Hebrew text of the Gospel of Matthew from manuscripts long hidden away in the archives of Jewish scribes. My research reveals that the more "modern" Greek text of Matthew, from which the Western world's versions were translated, depicts "another Jesus" from the Yeshua portrayed in the ancient Hebrew version."

http://www.hilkiahpress.com/in_search_of.html

Don't fall for such BS.

The gospel handed down through christianity.
The "Textus Recepticus" is the gospel that spread Christianity all over the world.

We certainly don't now need or want the false gospel of the Hebrew Roots movement.

Ga 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Anybody who knows anything about Christianity knows that the original gospels were written in Greek. Not Hebrew.
So ask yourself where their pretense of an "ancient Hebrew version" comes from.

And just by chance, their version of Jesus wants Christians to support apostate warmongering Israel. The nation that Jesus cursed in Mt 23 and elsewhere as being totally given over to Satan.

It might surprise you, but that supposed quote "the Generation that sees Israel become a state" is nowhere in the Bible.

The quote in question says:

Mt 24:32 ¶ Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

See anything about Israel becoming a state in there?
It's not there. It never was there.

You've been Scofielded.

That verse means just what it says.

Just like when we see a fig tree putting on new growth ahd leaves, we can deduce that summer is approaching, in the same way, when we see all the events listed in Mathew 24 coming to pass, we know that the return of Christ is about to happen'.

It was a convicted conman C.I. Scofield who invented the claim that the fig tree represents the refounding of the state of Israel.
Jesus never said or even hinted at that interpretation.

This is typical of Scofield's twisting of the scriptures to make them say things they don't say.
Scofield was used by the new Zionist movement to pervert Christian doctrine.

"The Scofield Reference Bible was not to be just another translation, subverting minor passages a little at a time. No, Scofield produced a revolutionary book that radically changed the context of the King James Version. It was designed to create a subculture around a new worship icon, the modern State of Israel, a state that did not yet exist, but which was already on the drawing boards of the committed, well-funded authors of World Zionism."

Psssssst!

"In my historical research of the Church over the last 35 years I have found an earlier record of the rapture doctrine than Margaret McDonald and the Irvingites. If you will check the counter reformation move of Papal Rome in the 16th century after Martin Luther nailed his 95 thesis to the church door in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517. You will find that Pope Leo X authorized three Jesuit Priests to reinterpret Daniel's 70 weeks of prophecy; the Book of Revelation; and Ezekiel. The goal of these jesuits was to take the heat of the reformation away from the papacy. The three Jesuits were: 1. Francisco Ribera (1537-1591) of Salamanca - futurism/rapturists 2. Luis de Alcazar (1554-1621) of Seville - praeterism 3. Cardinal Roberto Bellarmine (1542-1621) - followed Ribera's school of thought The futurists rapture doctrine originated and was submitted by Francisco Ribera in 1585. His Apocalyptic Commentary was on the grand points of Babylon and Anti-christ which we now call the futurists or rapture doctrine. Ribera's published work was called "In Sacram Beati Ionnis Apostoli & Evangelistate Apocoalypsin Commentari (Lugduni 1593). You can still find these writings in the Bodleian Library in Oxford England."

Sorry but that was just too painful to watch. Why didn't they use real people instead of that annoying computer generated animation?

I don't believe in the idea of the Rapture but I would love to know how you can say with such authority that the little round head cartoon man is right.

In matters spiritual I have my beliefs but I don't pretend to know any absolutes on the subject.
