i am not beautiful because i kinda like being ugly

that is sad

not really...nowhere it is written that one has to feel beautiful to feel good or happy

I thought I was beautiful until some horrible woman on CS said that male genitals are ugly. I feel so humiliated.

I think it's cause the people in the world created their Idea of beauty

Folks that have low self esteem issues cannot feel or see the beauty in themselves,these issues can be worked on if the person is willing to dispel negative thoughts about themselves,real beauty comes from within and when you learn to love yourself it shows outwardly,its a wonderful sight to see someone with real confidence and self love..

I find a woman more attractive when she is who she is, without any pretence...... even without makeup or well dressed.... its the personality that counts.

The beauty you speak of is only a figment of the imagination of marketing men, trying to sell more product.... ignore it

i use to feel like that. like i didnt need makeup but my work and without doing my hairpeople would look at you different and i would so get fired if i never did.

Some beauty comes from our genes, but really, most comes from self confidence and esteem, and being natural in the way we live life.
Many people have beliefs that limit the way they live life or feel about themselves. The trick is to find and then shine a light on these beliefs, then they usually begin to disappear.

The Bible tells us who we are. We are God's and that's all that matters. The Bible says:

God made all of creation. We were fearfully and wonderfully made. We are His handiwork (art). He knows the number of hairs on our heads. He knew us before we were in our mother's wombs. My worth is not found in this world. I am my Father's masterpiece.

There are some mean, shallow people here on CS. We must ignore the criticism of men and see our beauty through God's eyes.

i think going through life experiences and daily changes causes us to feel like we are not beautiful anymore, comes with age i think.

I don't know. What do we define as beautiful. I might be a hot mama to one and the average woman to the next. It all comes down to when I myself look in the mirror and are happy. I used to think I was ugly when I was 20 now I feel good about myself and for some reason I don't worry about that.

I think it's in our nature to be highly critical of our selves. I do not like myself in pictures, nor do I like to listen to my voice on tape. I can see 100 things wrong with me, while others see those wrongs as only character and uniqueness. And it's funny because that's how I see others...but not myself!!

Good point, everyone sees something different and beauty is really in the eyes of the beholder!! Hence, to the right person, you are beautiful as you are!!

I was listening to a radio talk-show and apparently there was a survey done wherein less than 5% of women considered themselves beautiful.

I believe it was a survey done in North America so I'm unsure of how other countries would respond to a similar survey taking into consideration the various influences of television, media, advertising etc. There are so many different things that can influence our perceptions of ourselves. Perhaps as well, if others made an effort to notice people, they would take more pride in their appearance. If someone looks great in purple, give them a genuine compliment - its so easy yet how many people take the time to make another feel good?

Inner beauty will shine, and when we describe our friends or people that we love to another - how often do we mention their "outer beauty"?? Its the inner qualities that we describe .... so take a look into a person to truly see the real them and you might be surprised at how truly beautiful they are.
