BINGO! I get asked the same thing...and its annoying I agree! It seems a kind of 'loaded' question, as if they are checking - do you have small kids at home with you? Are you really single or have a live in bf? Do you seriously earn enough money to afford to live without a roomy? Are you allowed to bring men back to your home? Will we be disturbed if I wanna get in your bed? etc etc.
When Im asked such questions, it is nearly always coming from a man who lives in a society where women are not given normal western freedoms, but I will now always answer "and why do you want to know that?" Or totally catch them off guard and ask " are you hunting for women who you can rape and pilage then???"

it has nothing to do with culture or cultural background on that matter!

let me explain it further:

i am chattin to a guy on this site, the conversation was nice, then he would ask me suddenly 'do u live on ur own'? 'roomates'? 'flatmates' ?....as if trying to imply that if i visit u, can i slept with u, without other people interrupting?

and this thread is specifically pointed to local area members that is just a few minutes from each other, and not thousand of miles apart...

From experience, usually men who ask you if you live on your own want to sex chat and at some point they may ask you to show yourself on web cam and most of the time they will ask you if you could remove your clothes and they will show themselves on web cam not wearing anything. Not that I have tried any of that hahahaha but I have heard that there are men and women who do it and enjoy it in Cyberspace. I have also heard stories from some of my friends have experienced it, and had to share it with me because it was so shocking.
