I would be interested to know what LDR means for you, I know in USA to drive hundreds of miles is nothing, whereas in the UK 20 miles could be considered a LDR.

Not a waste of time, but difficult when you don't have that closeness.

You also need a lot of trust, and you both need to give 100% to making it work.

If either one is seen not to be giving 100% then the mistrust sets in........ game over

ive never believed in long distance relationships.. but now im starting to think they can work..

but yeahh 20 miles is nothing here..lol

I agree. When you give someone time and attention and make the effort to let them know you're thinking of them and it's not reciprocated then the mistrust sets in and you start to think about how serious they really are. I think from that point on it's all downhill.

If 20 miles is a LDR then I have a long distance relationship with my desk (about 35 miles to work each day), the grocery store and every other nice convenience of life. confused Hmmm. Maybe LDR does work.
Yes though have heard UK an Ireland think it's a long way. Not sure about the rest of Europeans. We'll do 1200 miles in one day and it's a bit of a trip but very doable.
