I'm just sitting here wondering, thinking about the first time I decided to give cyber dating a chance, what was it that I was looking for then, how that has changed, and why...

I thought it should be easy, there must be dozens of guys out there, just as lonely as me, looking for a partner, in life, in love, in bed...

Now I play the game. What words are right, or wrong? Should I make the first move? When do we kiss? Touch? What if I'm too fast? Too slow? I feel like I'm haggling over a used car! You can't be honest, because everyone thinks you're still playing the game. When does the game end? When can I have hope for my original desire?????

Yes you can, honesty is the best policy, forget about games and just go by your own standards, if they don't meet them keep shopping.

I am honest and they run, that's OK, the day will come, when one will stay, understand and accept me for who I am, and I will do likewise. Just don't give up and stay the course!!

I think there's always one dominant partner in the relationship and that the game continues until it's established just who is in which position. Just an observation and I'm not talking about anything sexual here just that one tends to lead and the other tends to follow.

Good point!! Often this struggle never ends and ruins the relationship!!

Like all dances I sometimes sit back and watch others do their thing. I was never good at all kinds of dance. So like dance I am not good at all kinds of the dating dance.

I too can remember when I elected to join the internet dating world. That has been quite a while ago. I have been at the dance too long.

My song will be played soon and the right lady will accept my offer to move around the dance floor. We will move together as one.

Thank you, Rubin. I appreciate your honest response. I should never have allowed myself to get sucked into the 'game' in the first place. It's so out of character for me in 'normal' situations.

Thanks for the compliment. This is one of the issues with the internet dating dance. We are all far apart. Very few of us are close to each other. If we elect to do this dance we must expect to travel.

In some ways yes this is probably true.

Personally, if I got the feeling the other person didn't care or wasn't putting as much into the relationship as i was then, depending how long the relationship had been, I'd either confront the issue or simply end it.
