The rebuilding of the Temple of Solomon is not the reason behind the conflict in Israel/Palestine.

No, Obama is not going to build a new temple for the Israelis, and building a temple in general, is not going to stop the conflict.

I think you are missing the majority of reasons why there is no peace there. Do you know much about the subject? dunno

Well, yes...the situation is complicated. And it takes a lot of research and time to get a good understanding of the situation. The best approach as well, is to not form an opinion (Pro-Israeli or Pro-Palestinian) until after you have really heard all the arguments and sides of the story. A lot of people form their opinion in advanced, and ignore the other side's story completely.

The main problem is and question is the Palestinian question. What to do with the idea of a Palestinian State. The International community and even Israel have agreed that the Palestinians should have their own State (country). But, the problem lies where you would divide this small land, and who would get what. Extremist on both sides would like 100% of the country, which obviously is not possible if you want to achieve the goal of having 2 independent States.

I am not an expert, but I have done a lot of research on the issue. And I am more then happy to help answer questions for you. I am neither completely for/against either sides. I am most interested in trying to finding solutions, versus arguing about who is right/wrong, who is more bad or more good.

If you have time and a real interest. I suggest starting with this website. It shows all of the resolutions created by the United Nations regarding Israel/Palestine. A lot of documents, some rather boring I must admit. But, it will give you a good idea of what the problems are, what are some solutions, and even some original ideas that probably could work, but still have not been implied.

alexy, very few people know the history of how Palestine was cut up to create the state of Israel by the UN in 1948. This is the root of all the problems we face in the middle east today which also includes 9/11 the embassy bombings, the USS Cole OBL, etc. It all can be traced back to that one event.

wave Hey, hows it going?

Yes, I think the big mistake took place when they accepted Israel as a new Nation State, before having a Palestinian Nation State formed. When they were redrawing the borders and deciding who got what, they should have made sure it developed at the same time, and recognized both as independent Nations States at the same time.

I think the United Nations should control Jerusalem, because I don't it is fair to give the city to either Israel or Palestine. And you can't really divide the city in half, that doesn't work. So, I think Jerusalem should become an international city under the UN. Jerusalem is a holy city in Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, so I don't believe any of these religions have a more valid claim to the city. They equally deserve the city. So, to make it International would be best, in my opinion.

And then think the United Nations should look at their older resolution of what the borders of Israel and Palestine are suppose to be, and that should be implemented. It is important for the United State to back the UN resolutions as well. Obviously, leaving the border negotiations to Israel and Palestine is not working out.

Obviously, this solution is full of problems too...but well, its only a suggestion wink After all this situation is complicated, so if we could solve it in a couple of forum posts, I am sure they would have solved the issue years ago laugh But, its still worth trying to find a solution

an still I have no answer , are and when ,are they going to ???

I am sure if they threaten to move the dome some place else, there's plenty of countries near by that would love to have it reassembled in their backyard???

I am sure there will be a good place for it !!

The threat might make palestine "wake up" and make the right decision

The Muslims currently have a mosque where the Jews claim the original temple was. They want to re-build the temple, but they want to rebuild it in the original place, which they can not do at he moment because there is a Mosque there.

When are they going to re-build the temple? Nobody knows, there isn't a set construction day, and like I said right now there is a mosque there. And I am pretty sure the Muslims don't want to move their mosque.

So, there is your answer....nobody is going to be rebuilding the Temple of Solomon, while their is a mosque there. There is no plans to move or disassemble the mosque, so I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the temple to be-rebuilt.

Well, the temple is not the only problem in this conflict. So, there are other ways to bring peace and stability to the region, without rebuilding the temple.

But, to give you a short answer...unfortunately at the moment there is really no end in sight blues

The problem is though the U N could control the city but intolerant religions will not accept the other. When you have one religion that believes that if the other is on there piece of the pie it is defiled you can never have peace . It hast to come from the top of each religion that teaches tollerance for other religions that is not the case here. and as long as that exist there can never be peace . It is like gasoline trying to exist with a lit match when ever they get close there is combustion .

i think that obama wants to be considered godlike and wouldn't tolerate any bad press, things to be said about him, and want to impose his way of thinking on this nation. to put it simply having the new world order. he has already given the fbi to spy on americans and created a enemies list of those who don't like him and his policies. speaking of that people who won't get the government run health care will get fined and jailed for five years who won't pay it. if that happens. i will fight the government in court because i can't afford health care let alone paying the fine and jail sentence

There can be peace in the region only when the extreme religions realize that they must get along . One of the main problems is that the muslims have sworn they will never accept a zionist state and to this day have never even accepted it's right to exist . With all I have seen Isreal could give the palistinians all of Isreal except one foot and they would still fight for that one foot . You will see a peace in the area for a short time though but it won't last .
