Okay, something that I have wondered about when it comes to online matchmaking. You see a profile, the person's words are generally the same as every other profile you have read...'blah, blah, blah...honest, sincere...blah, blah, blah...want to find my soul mate...blah, blah, blah...no games or liars...blah, blah, blah!'

So what attracts you to pick this one over that one? What makes this profile stand out from the rest? Why do you ignore some, toy with others, but choose one from a sea of many?

The age of the lady; the picture; whether she smokes or not; then the words on the profile.

So what attracts you to pick this one over that one? What makes this profile stand out from the rest? Why do you ignore some, toy with others, but choose one from a sea of many?

For me... it's normally when they say they have a sense of humour, or a happy disposition.... I prefer ladies that want to laugh, can have fun, but still be serious when the Excrement hits the air conditioning.

Being able to laugh is on of the best tonics in any situation !

Englishman55: it's normally when they say they have a sense of humour, or a happy disposition....

For me, I prefer it when men actually show their sense of humour already in their profile. Promises that they have it mean nothing to me. "I'm from Missouri, so you've got to SHOW ME!"

But, yes, sometimes there's so little text and it all falls into one of the vague "blah blah blah" categories that it's impossible to pick - so I close the tab and explore the next profile!

Ok. to answer more seriously. I do look for guys that have pets or are animal lovers. Sense of Humour is also a requirement. I don't like reading a novel but I don't like the short..."what ever you wanna know just email me" either. I like a nice in between. I also like it when you read the profile you sounds like the person and not a copy and paste job from another profile.

TOTALLY agree! And, I would add, that I don't reply to messages that are copied and pasted from the original profile.

1. copy paste is bad
2. animals in pic are good
3. don't say it...show it.
4. its the habits (i.e. smoking, drinking...)
