There is dispute about what that mysterious Mayan date really means. Some say it's not a new Armageddon, but the dawn of a New Age.

So, what is the truth behind 2012?

Join host Lester Holt as he explores whether the ancient Mayans predicted a possible cataclysm in 2012-and if they could be right. The key to understanding 2012, and possibly surviving it, could be hidden halfway around the world beneath the desert sands. We will travel to Egypt with a mission to discover an ancient Hall of Records believed buried near the pyramids that could reveal secret knowledge about past cataclysms and clues about how we might be able to avert future ones. We'll also travel to Central America on a mission to discover the origins of the 2012 prophesy and to find out what it's authors really intended. We will use clues from ancient knowledge combined with modern-day science to uncover the mysteries 2012. It is a race against the clock and mankind's very existence could hang in the balance.

Is this a prophecy a death sentence...or perhaps merely a warning? Is there be time to save ourselves? Join us as we attempt to find out the truth behind 2012.

The first airing is TONIGHT on Syfy, at 9:00PM Eastern.

Ma'am, you made your point perfectly clear in HL's other post in concern to her comment. To do so again in other threads, you may be labeled as a stalker and I can only assume that it is not your desire. Lest we forget that two wrongs don't make it right.

Also, that PDF file is an actual copy of that health care reform bill in which HL had offered in hopes to better educate people of its contents. From that, read it or not, we can then make up our own minds for certain.

I'm not able to watch it. Sat's out and may be for a while. It did look like an interesting topic from what I've seen on a website dedicated to the 2012 movie. I'm not even sure if this Doc is the same as what I've seen, as this PC is being stubborn and not taking to webs too well. blues

Kinda reluctant to even log off CS because I may not be able to log back in. laugh

Hi R!wave

There should be a message to the right of the screen I believe, that tells you that you need to download the TVU player file.
I have been using it for quite a while, so I don't remember if it's there or if it comes up at the top, on your browser and you have to click it and tell it, yes, download this file.

It plays on that page, the player is built into the website, but you need the add-on to make it work.

TY for the info but I think these things like the media have a negative affect on people. I watch but take it with a grain of salt for I do not believe everything I hear and 1/2 of what I see and will not except this type of conjecture and what if could cause more stress on people and don't we have enough already. We have a saying in NYC," It is what it is" and if it's meant to be, so be it, somewhat like the weather, no control.conversing hug cheers

The whole 2012 theory is just going to be another rerun of the Y2K
debacle so put your AK47's back in the gun safe, unload all the provisions from your 4WD and forget about heading for the hills or the desert because nothing is going to happen, and even if it did, theres probably nothing you could do to save your ass anyway!




Despite the publicity generated by the 2012 date, Susan Milbrath, curator of Latin American Art and Archaeology at the Florida Museum of Natural History, stated that "We [the archaeological community] have no record or knowledge that [the Maya] would think the world would come to an end" in 2012. "For the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle," says Sandra Noble, executive director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies in Crystal River, Florida. To render December 21, 2012, as a doomsday event or moment of cosmic shifting, she says, is "a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in." "There will be another cycle," says E. Wyllys Andrews V, director of the Tulane University Middle American Research Institute (MARI). "We know the Maya thought there was one before this, and that implies they were comfortable with the idea of another one after this."
