RLML48: Have you been chatting or talking with someone for a long while and after you thought that the relationship was going somewhere finally, you find out that the person you were involved with is not a real person, more of a phony, or an impersonation of someone else, including pics, location, and everything else. Well, this has happened to me, and now, it is very difficult to trust who’s at the other end, especially, when they are from other countries. I feel very insecure and that it must not be a real person on the other side, but someone from Nigeria, for example, and if they are from the UK, I start to believe that this must be another one of those people. I have learned their lingos and whenever I hear something like…”my wife died in a car accident and I have child..blah, blah”..in addition, they give you their email address immediately, and try to force you to add them to your chat list…that is a sign to me. Also..when you chat with them…they start talking to you as if you already have a relationship with them. They say they don’t want money, so what the heck do they want? I would like to talk to someone without the feelings of being taken for a ride and feeling comfortable talking to. Could there be peace of mind when meeting someone from another country? What a dilemma.. please…My question is:
How do you spot these phonies…scammers…or whatever the heck they are? What do you do when you meet someone you think is a nice guy but you fear that it might be someone impersonating someone else?
