Other than my zombies I love a good war movie that is authentic and real as it could get. I cannot decide which one of the three I would consider to be the most authentic to the war experience. I know that "Full metal jacket" was as real as it gets as far as boot camp hell, but the rest of the movie was based on tryin to locate and pasify a sniper...kinda. Platoon seemed like the real deal and what was done to innocent bystanders just because they were the same race as the enemy and murdered. Saving Pvt. Ryan would probably have to be me favorite for reality. The landing in Normandy and storming the beach was the most moving sequence in a war movie that i've ever seen. It's probably the only one out of the three that I shed a tear for real, it moved me big time. I love all three of these movies because they seem very authentic, but what do I know I wasn't alive in those days and served my country shiting myself in Iraq! Vietnam and ww2 made more sense...anyway take it cheezie

When younger I probably had many favorites, and I could never understand why my father, a WWII vet would never watch them. After my older brother returned from 'nam, and my enlistment a few years later, I have not watched a "good war movie".

The Brotherhood of War (A Korean Movie about the Korean War) is one of the best made war films I have watched.

"Admiral" (Russian movie about the Revolution)is also a very good movie.

9 Rota (9th Company or 9th Legion) was not very historically accurate, but kind of an interesting war movie.

And of course Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, We Were Soldiers were also good war movies. I think the new HBO series "The Pacific" should be pretty good too.
