Having worked in Pallitive care, yes,I have and will contiue to say that it is those that are being left behind that suffer most,as those who are passing, have already gone, this ofourse only being pronlonged life, not that of a sudden death though ofcourse.
Tis it greed to have a want to need of those we love, more so to me it is just wanting to hang on,so selfish would to me be a better word, however not all have this behaviour in the end, most just want the comfort of knowing there is peace, and if that means in passing, then yes,so be it.
I am going to talk out of my own personal experiance and say this.
I was given a quote unquote chance to live,in the eyes of the medical profession,my choice to be there way,or no way, meaning death.Well death being the inevitable, and there really being no certan time with death,I choose my way, beacuse to me there way would have been a chance to live in sickness,in hospitals with doctors, and a family greiving for me,I couldn't have that ,so I live my life the best I can and make peace and light out of a bad situation.
Well guess what I am here, and to me the quality of life is far better then the quantity of death, don't get me wrong, not by a long shot do I not feel that research and the changes to medical technology should stop,it has changed lives, saved lives and has come a long way and to me is very remarkable. But what I am saying is that we have the here and the now and we have choice and to me I want to have the choice to live ,living is for the here and now,and death is a everlasting sleep, while here I have control, once I am gone I have not......
