My aunts hose would let you slide for miles on the slick floors until she beat the devil out of me for ruining her hose.

I was only 6 years old.

I still have the scare from hitting the metal clothes hamper.

I remember when we used to say the Pledge of Allegiance in school before first class started and praying before we had our milk and snack at recess.

I also remember when JFK was shot.

My mother using one of those washers with the wringer on the top

There was snow on the ground before Halloween

I remember the days when the Catholic School Nuns would still take a ruler to you or still take a chunk out of your backside if you were out of line... : )
