Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Mitchell, I can easily forgive you, which I do, and you did not offend me. You are coming across poorly and I am willing to tell you that. I could easily go bible verse to bible verse, but that is not the issue here. The question asked for your views on same sex relationships, I did exactly that, I gave my view. Everyone here has a opinion and they don't need to be put down for having one.

I have neighbors that go to church every Sunday and can preach the Bible, but very few will actually practice what they preach. To tell you the truth I would rather have that same sex couple living next to me, because they will mind their own business, then have hypocrites that try to harm their neighbors.

I don`t think I put anyone down for their opinion, the bible was referenced at the beginnig of this thread so I just added what the bible says.

While we have been brought up to believe that homosexualality is a sin. Who's to say? I believe that it is only mentioned twice in the new testament, and not the old testament. I follow the old testament.
It seems that we as a people, want to pick and choose what we want to call sin and stand by it. We sin daily, all of us. While same sex couples is not mentioned in the Ten Commadments. We break those all the time, without blinking an eye. If you are going to use the Bible to make your point, then you need to read further on, and ask questions that we have control of. I do not believe that Homosexuality is (in a man) something that is chosen. I cannot believe that anyone would choose such a hard life to live. I know Gay people that go to church on a regular basis. And believe in God and worship more that many Hetero's that I know.
God says that we must love everyone and not sit in judgement of others. Not to talk down to, call names to, slander or hate. He tells us that we are to use good judgement. Find the good and do good.
Somewhere in here I saw mention of homosexuals molesting children. In my 53 years, I have never heard of that. The only ones that I have heard that do those things, are usually heterosexuals. Or at least they claim to be. Most are married men.
How come no one mentions the fact that according to the Bible, that it is also a sin to masturbate. We tend to ignore that one don't we?
It is unclean that a man shall spill his seed upon the ground.
How come we don't wonder about some of the other stuff that is mentioned in the bible? Like, abortion, divorce. child support, vandalism. What about eating pork? Not okay in the old testament, okay in the new testament. I can go and on. When we start to accept responsibility for what we read in the Bible, and understand it. Then we will not be so fast to pick and choose our sins.dunno

You were never an enemy. If you go back and look, yes the bible was referenced, but it got to where no matter what anyone said, you had to quote a bible verse about their opinion. This is what made it look as if you were trying to put people down for their opinion.

cheers May the next time we meet be on a smooth path!

*comes in singing* Hey Hey, Ho Ho, Homophobia has to go, Hey Hey, Ho Ho, Homophobia has to go* cheering

I actually went to a gay pride march once...yep, wild...but to me I dont care who loves who, aslong as it makes you happy!!

Im not saying that anyone is homophobic either, just a little chant that I remembered from the parade!

To each their own.....geeesh! If people worried about their own lives as much as they do others, they would live a much happier life.

And as far as religion goes....The bible says God made Adam and Eve, YES....which left them what choice? One boy, one girl...now, there is a buffett of which you are free to choose!

Sorry, JMHO!

Hmmm I remember a quote someone that went something like "History is written by those who win the war..." Not that I'm denouncing religion by any means, just that maybe the Bible was written as a basis to look toward, not to be followed word for word. Because the Bible is afterall, a book written by men, then rewritten and rewritten and so on.

I personally think it is morally wrong ... after all it is talked about in the bible as being forbidden. I realize it will still go on as not everyone feels the same. Yet God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
I truly believe in "Live and let live"..I do not care what my friends' sexual orientations are..It is not my business..

And, if God thinks it is wrong, let Him/Her take care of it...

We are not God..."Judge not; Lest ye be judged"...peace

i dont agree w/you mitchell that homosexuality is an abomination, & yet i do have a moral code which i also adhere to. its simply not yor moral code.
Nor do I agree with Mitchell, it is that kind of attitude that lets hate flourish..

wow.

i don't see the word 'homosexual' anywhere in that list.
Nor did I, but then, I don't make a career out of critisizing people just because they don't meet the bible's critera...

Mitchell, there you go again twisting people's words. Why do you feel so much hatred towards me? Why do you feel you must try to provoke me? I said I believe in what Jesus said in the New Testament, not that he had it with him. For the New Testament was written after Jesus, the apostles letters are written in the New Testament and tell of Jesus's words and works. Mitchell since you have brought the matter, you are coming off as arumentive and not very helpful. I read full text and not just bits and pieces to suit my needs to put others down. Please go find someone else to play your little game in the forums.
I think it is because you don't agree with his teachings, Irish Lass..

Not God's, Mitchell's!

If it does indeed say in the Bible that it is morally wrong. Then it also says that sex without the intent of marriage is wrong. How many break that one on a daily basis?

I agree with you Sadeyes044, and I must say that it is a crying shame that almost every reply to this thread have been in favor of gay and lesbian relationships. I am shocked and suprised that so many have accepted this lifestyle. It is strictly forbidden, and classified as an abomination. It is against nature itself.

Seems that everyone wants to be politically correct, and avoid taking a stand against evil. Yes evil, the practice of homosexuality is evil to the core. Heck, why do some of you people even think it is wrong to kill some one? Or steal from others? What about taking another mans wife? Or telling lies? What about beastiality? I guess those things are ok too in some peoples eyes. I am sickened by the responces. An entire city was destroyed because of this abonimable behavior. It appears that we as a nation are surely headed for that same end.

Maybe if some people had some kind of moral code to live by they could get their balance on these issues. Ther are a few that still adhere to laws and morals.
That intire city was destroyed because of mass orgies and violent rapes. Yes, there were also same sex relationships as well, as that city was so full of sin of all kinds. Liars and thieves and rapist, and murderers, men sexually abusing children, worshipping money and fame. The city had to be destroyed.
I do not for the life of me understand where it says that homosexuality was the absolute reason.
The word homosexual wasn't even around in the days that the Old Testament was written. They have never found a word in there that they can interpret as homosexual. One man made that word up and when he wrote the New Testament, he put it there.
As I have mentioned before, man with man was only mentioned twice. I believe that masturbation was mentioned twice as well. So, we choose a situation and make it work for our own needs. To make us feel better.
There are many more serious sins, if we want to quote the Bible here, that are mentioned time after time. And to no avail.
Kat
