Highplains,

If that's how you feel why not vote for Jim Webb? That will help tilt the balance in the Senate and we might be able to do something about the "Patriot" act.

I have nothing against Jim Webb. I believe that, other than Mark Warner, George Allen was one of the best Governors that Virginia has had in my lifetime. You know, and I know, that we won't ever do anything about the Patriot Act. What will REALLY happen if our incumbent Senator is unseated? NOTHING. Nothing at all. The only thing that could happen that would sway my vote away from George Allen would be for him to do something that I don't agree with. I am not, by virtue, either Republican or Democrat. I did vote for Bush for his first term, but not the second term. I voted for Clinton both terms. I am not at all ashamed to say for whom my ballot is cast. Tell me, sir, are you a real, true to life Spin Doctor?

Not much time between now and Tuesday for him to commit an act that might meet with your disapproval. How about things that he's done in the past:

1. Called an American-Indian college student "Macaca" and then welcomed him to America, when he was actually born in this country and was just as "American" as anyone else. The only reason for Allen to pick on him was the color of his skin.

2. When asked by reporters if his mother was Jewish, Allen took it as a slur. As if having a Jewish mother was something to be ashamed off. And then it transpires that his mother is Jewish.

As far as being a 'Spin Doctor", whatever that is, no. Just someone concerned at the direction this country is headed and trying to see what we as individuals can do.

I, for one, never heard anyone use the word Macacca ever in my life until then. So to call it a slur, who the hell knew until the media said so. Even the cameraman was not offended. I am about as American as you can get. Hell, it might have even something worth taking offense to if he had called a black cameraman LEROY or something like that. But "macacca", come on, please. Suppose the cameraman had been an illegal Mexican immigrant and he called him "Sanchez" would that have been o.k.?

2. If someone asked you if your mother was a Jew, in that context, you might take offense to it. Nothing wrong with being a Jew, if you are, you are.

3. You are politically enlightened but don't know what a Spin Doctor is? Come on now, brother, you are really pulling my chain here.

Sorry, sir, your time is wasted trying to convert me to be a Webb supporter.

My beef with both parties is this, And I'm going to start bugging ppl in my state house for this.
I think I even put this in one of your earlier post.
I'll vote for who ever the best person is, by my standard's.
And we're not voting for the prez this year. Further more it's more to do with Congress than the prez any way. Social Studies 101, lmao

My beef;

Someone needs to change that dum voting thing of "Yes means no" and No means yes", on certain bill's and admendment's, our other voting right's and all. I see politician's on TV saying they made a mistake on this rule of thumb. Now if our own politician's are making mistake's, Think about average Joe or Jane, thinking that they are saying no to taxes, and they actually voted for it. IT NEEDS CHANGED!

So since you are a democrat, Tell them about this problem, Your nice suit tell's me you are working inside one of the campaign offices. So maybe we can get some honest real vote's in the little black box, sort of speak.

I believe that both parties have good and bad in thier people's and orginization's.

I run a small business, so yes, I keep up with both's sides. And we could lower taxes if, we started taxing all these immigrants that legally work here. Even the one's that our government hand's over businesses to, on silver plate's. Where and what does that say to the rest of America? Is it Fair? Hell no, my business can fall thru the floor, and the goverment will just close my door and tell me to pay my dept's. But, on the other hand, If someone from another country is failing, our government gives them another $50.000.00 to keep it running.

"I LOVE MY COUTRY, BUT, FEAR THE GOVERNMENT"
All legal foreigners pay the same amount of tax, regular americans pay....and the non0immigrant ones, I mean those on job visas they even pay for social security which they are not going to use..the pay check takes out both state and federal taxes including medicaid and social security....I dont know but know one thing for sure, government doesnt make it easy for foreigners than the citizens itself....talk about illegal foreigners thats a totally different issue...

well, the vote is over, and we have a democratic control......no problem there, i am independent...the problem is the speaker of the house...nancy palo (however you spell it)....that is san fransisco values in our country....we are not socialist, we are a free people run by the people...instead of itching about what party is doing what, US...the USA people need to take back our government, and tell them as a whole this is what we want...me you ask? :

immigration reform....BS...enforce the law!

iraq...push iraq to take control, pull out when it is safe.

jessica lungsford act (jessicas law) mandated for states to ratify.........why is this not happenning? congress passed a law, yet our kids in several states (including mine...and i am pushing it)have not adopted it, why?...we are not speaking loud enough!

social security...a failed government attempt to tax the people out their own retirement.(it failed, phase it out, and let the people decide where their own retirement comes from)

i could go on, but i won't...politics just disgust me...it's not a parties fault people it is ours...WE ARE THE GOVERNMENT ..SPEAK UP!
