RDM59: What baffles me greatly about the evolution from reptile to bird is the transformation of front limbs into wings. Where did this desire to become airborne come from ? What drives the relentless genetic R+D of experimental evolution of the complex aerodynamic design of a wing ? How is this goal for flight started and then maintained over the millions of years of evolution that it takes ? The evolution of gills into lungs is as equally wondrous.

Too many questions ....

Hi There RDM wave

It prolly came from the same yearning as we have to time zap travel.. now just imagine, I could wish myself to yours for a quick cuppa, and then wish myself home again.. ( only coz the weather is kinder over here.)grin

i can't answer those questions, but i noticed that my parrots, after the bath while their feathers are still wet and not fluffy, look very much like turtles laugh you know, the head and beak, you can see some very distant family connection there :)
and also, about needing a rooster for eggs, i can say with absolute certainty, my female bird lays eggs without mating, so it's either some divine intervention or the male bird is needed just for fertilizing, not the laying, i'm not that much of an expert confused

True...if you believe in the whole God creation thing then it would have to have been God and not Jesus who created the rooster and the chicken. I'm just glad they were created no matter what came first...yummy thumbs up peace

Well if you believe in evolution it would have to be the egg because that creature that laid that egg was not quite a chicken.
