In response to:
thanks again to everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers..
after i posted this.. i went outside and a doe.. was in my front yard.. now this deer has been around here before but i've never got to see her..
she came up to me and licked my face.. she was the sweetest thing aside from a child i've ever seen
an omen..... a beautiful one.
my arms around you
weep here
and celebrate her peace
in my culture we have a tradition at the death of an intimate loved one....
and we have still the possibility to perform it.. i guess you are not able, america is set up differently for death...
anyway you could do a version of it....it begins by collecting favorite things and photos of the deceased and essential oils for preparing the body, a basin w/ water and towels.
you may take turns but usually there is only 2 or 3 to attend this ritual.
with the feet, you remember all the things they have shared with you, with their feet and toes....the walks, the dances, their shoes ...their footsteps..their direction....
with gratitude and love we wash the body and thank each part for all the memories we have collected together..slowly the legs and genitals..giving thanks for our conception and our journey
the solarplexus... how they presented themselves, the heart, breast,= the love
the arms and hands and fingers the face...it's poignant and heavy, but it somehow enables a shift for everyone in a beautiful and profound way.
maybe you could make a circle together and with a photo go thru the memories
take your time to grieve...you get free credit to be crazy for min. 1 year when a parent dies...
stay soft and strong.
indeed we're here for ya.
kisses
alex
