Smoking can be addictive. Tobacco used to be the medium of exchange instead of the dollar when America was started. King George called it foul smelling stuff when Sir Raleigh brough it to him. The tobacco companies brought it to the employees' place of work and offered it for free back in the early fourties. Many people who didn't smoke then took up the habit. It was legal trafficking back then. I was at the hospital, yesterday. In Arkansas hospital grounds are state protected against smoking, today. The freedom or right you enjoy today maybe illegal, tomorrow. Two teenagers said that you can't smoke in the parking lot because it is against the law. I laughed because they were right. Since they have been born many laws have been created. They went to the nurse and said we told them it was wrong. A fellow student said you tattle-tale. The nurse just said it was against the law. I am glad the tattle-tales have that right. Being an older smoker I can remember when it wasn't a law. I can remember where all the ash trays were in the hospital. I can remember all the cigarette commercials on television. I can remember when the "Thank you for not smoking signs" came about and the recent no smoking in public facilities came about. This county was dry for many years and recently went wet. It has hurt many bootleggers but now the legal sellers of alcohol have their turn. Many drug dealers have been busted. I can remember when the sherrif of another town I was at confiscated many drugs and paraphenalia for the Alcohol and Beverage Control and sold them at the sherriff's office until one of the guys he busted shot him through the eyes a half mile from where I lived. It is best that you make that choice not to smoke than to have someone else make that choice for you.
