Interview with God

"So you would like to interview me?" God asked.

"If you have the time" I said.

God smiled. "My time is eternity."
"What questions do you have in mind for me?"

"What surprises you most about humankind?"

God answered...
"That they get bored with childhood,
they rush to grow up, and then
long to be children again."

"That they lose their health to make money...
and then lose their money to restore their health."

"That by thinking anxiously about the future,
they forget the present,
such that they live in neither
the present nor the future."

"That they live as if they will never die,
and die as though they had never lived."

God's hand took mine
and we were silent for a while.

And then I asked...
"As a parent, what are some of life's lessons
you want your children to learn?"

"To learn they cannot make anyone
love them. All they can do
is let themselves be loved."

"To learn that it is not good
to compare themselves to others."

"To learn to forgive
by practicing forgiveness."

"To learn that it only takes a few seconds
to open profound wounds in those they love,
and it can take many years to heal them."

"To learn that a rich person
is not one who has the most,
but is one who needs the least."

"To learn that there are people
who love them dearly,
but simply have not yet learned
how to express or show their feelings."

"To learn that two people can
look at the same thing
and see it differently."

"To learn that it is not enough that they
forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves."

"Thank you for your time," I said humbly.

"Is there anything else
you would like your children to know?"

God smiled and said,
"Just know that I am here... always."

Maybe that's the problem ...
As the World temperature increases and the richer get richer while the poor watch their children starve ...
As evil men get to do more evil and people don't even raise their eyebrows to it anymore ...
As religions are perverted and the "righteous" claim to be speaking for God ...
As deserters run countries and send "their subjects" children into a war without hope of a useful purpose ...
And on the other side of the planet a sincophant passes laws that give a secret "religious" organisation (the Exclusive Bretheren) draconion rights against their workers ...
As all this happens the voters who really have the power to remove these despoilers Bush and Howard ...
These voters hide their heads in the sand and say, "God will make it all right in the end."

Folks God HATES idiots. God can't wait until you clear the planet of the your sorrowful carcases and he can start afresh. I know because he told me.

And so do we become cynical and judgmental? Or do what we can, when we can? I may not agree with all that happens in the world. In fact I think it's horrendous. But I have to say. I highly doubt that God said any such thing to you.

So you'll believe that God told George Bush to invade Iraq (not with the Party Girls but with your children) ...

But you WON'T believe that God told me that you all have to stop polluting the planet with the oil that makes Bush, Chainey and Rummy rich and have to start sharing the wealth with people who's children are starving ...

God just told me not to fret because the idiots are killing off their own idiot genes by following the othe rguy who says God talks to him. Happy Faith day folks.

Goodness sakes No I viamently do not believe God told George Bush to invade Iraq. And I have two sons. One in the National Guard! So please don't act as if I don't give a shit! I do, probably more than you!

Of course we should stop polluting the the planet, in any way. Not just with oil that makes Bush rich. And yes should share the money with starving children.

Whilst teaching English in Ecuador came up against people that hated Americans and what this country stands for on a daily basis. I don't try to excuse the actions of our government, nor big business! As most of it is inexcusable. I carry no self righteous pride of an American turning my head looking the other way from what's right!

And I did not vote for Bush!

OK .... God couldn't give me anything to sooth your anxiety but he is pleased that you are thiking about who is using your children and tax dollars. At least I am sure he would if he was talking to me. I'm Irish. God stopped talking to us around the time Strongbow invaded Ireland.

Thanks that's very comforting to know. I have always thought of these things. I was in the military myself. As my Father was. Of course I look at the tax dollars and where they go. My anxiety could not be soothed by anything other than the self knowledge that no matter what crosses our paths , we do indeed have to deal with, whether we like it or not...And do the very best in small ways and personal levels to promote a change....and help where I can.

The oil might not run out before the mean temperature gets to Summer Venus. Don't count on God to help then ... He's itching to get started on large lunged hoppers on low gravity Mars. Thinks he may have a patch for the "Get Successful and Kill Everything Else on the Planet" bug in the software.

is not believing in God suppose to ease the troubled mind?

how long have I heard that his kingdom is not of this world and if we are his children our kingdom too is not of this world. why prolong the trip, its true we are beset on all sides evil and corruption and the path God asks us to follow is indeed narrow.

if this is all true, is it not a wiser thing to watch our own steps on this narrow path then to raise on voice and place guilt on the dismal abyss of averice deceit falsehoods that surround the path he set before us.... Maybe... just maybe they are unknowingly part of the grand plan to carry us on home to the kingdom?

I agree had i he power I would probably being the end of exsistence about a different way.... but I'm not him.

although in my life I have caused a few to cry out that name to me.
but those stories are for another website.

is it wiser to rake the leaves or shake the tree to remove the leaves? everything in its time.
