I would listen to only my breathing
take the moment to go back and kiss the shining tear perched to fall from my daughters eyelashes when she was 4yrs old...
Would, again, lay my hand on the fevered head of my son, and know he was sleeping soundly.
Would listen in silence, to my own breathing...

I would have told my sister how much I loved, respected and admired her instead of pretending (both of us) that she would survive and we would see each other again.

Some of these responses are very touching, even emotional.

It makes me think, of how many ways we can use this one minute in our lives.

My son, now in heaven, him and I had a very open communication, always said I love you, and have I have no regrets, but I would have changed one thing.

The last time I saw him, I would have used that one minute, and ask him "Jimmy can I the shirt you are wearing".
I have nothing material to hold of his.

His wife to be kept everything of his, I only have the beautiful memories that would never fade.

But if I had the chance to have his shirt, and just hold it, have his scent still on it, the energy he showed while living that moment.

I believe it would make an impact on me, but one that I would treasure forever.

Thanks for sharing your responses.

You have the best of it...

Nothing material can ever replace the memories that can be brought out, cherished and held close in your heart.

The material things you can hold but they will never touch that place in you soul where he resides.

Your wisdom once again reaches the most sensitive side of me, my emotions.

It's very true something material can never touch me the way his memeories do, and he does live in me.

But when a life is taken away so unexpectedly, and in a very horrible way, the void that stays, I believe is even greater, than if he had been terminaly ill.

You have that one last look while they are breathing and young, and then the next day they are gone, ripped right out of my life.

But never out of my soul or mind.

Thanks angel
