why do guys go for looks...

I am selfish. I want a pretty woman to be with and I am not ashamed of it. I don't discount any woman but I can guarantee that if I had a blind pick between two women that have a lot of characteristics in common and I like them both fairly equally, when the mask comes off, I am going for the one that looks better to me. I know that that is an unlikely event but it is no less valid than trying to compare two complex people anyway. We just have preferences. It isn't intentionally hurtful but it is honest (even if it is hormonal).
that is so much true, But to some things like that does not matter. DROSE just be you

You will find someone

your Mum was on the money w/ that bit of info!!! there's more to me
than what you see but a lot of men can't seem to get past that or are
intimidated if they do..or something..not quite sure what to think!!!
but it sure would be nice if they would be sincere and really try to
get to know me as a person n not just for the "obvious"!! sigh

Vicki, I go for looks, to a certain degree..But, If a lady sparks my interest, and her profile is interesting, looks go out the window..

I realize that with all the things I have been through, and the facy that I am not a 'pretty boy', that many women will skip what I really have to offer..

I am, really, looking for compatibility, and somnetimes, in this search, character is more important than looks..

Of course, men go for looks, and so do women. What is so hard to understand to understand about that?D'oh!

It is true that women are less visually attracted than men, but, the are the smae, to a degree..

I agree cajunfroggy....

One of the first reactions we have is visual, and if it is pleasing to you, then you go from there.

We all have different tastes, likes, and desires, so what may be good looking to one man, has no reaction from another.

Sometimes we invest too much of our own emotions in another, believing in yourself is the most attractive quality any man or woman can have. Confidence is attractive.

i'm not totally agree with ur mom... i mean how can we live w/ a person for the rest of our life if seeing him/ her makes us sick ??? but i really think beauty is in the eyes of beholder ... some doesn't like fat guys, well i do ... i mean we all have different standard and taste of beauty right .... what's good for me doesn't have to be good for others and it works both ways :)

LOOKS Only last so long... Your MUM was RIGHT~~~~~~~

So was mine.. I never listened to her most of my life... I've started in recent years... and a lot of the things she told me... I've come to find out are TRUE... DUhhhhhhhhhhhhhD'oh!

The biggest thing she always told me was the LOVE NEVER HURTS.... Don't sleep with someone until you find out if you LIKE them first... If you do not respect yourself.... he won't respect you either... i.e., if you let him walk all over you... he'll walk all over you because he has no respect for you....And the big one.......
you can tell alot by a man on how he treats you in public... if he's not taking you out in public.... your relationship is meant to be a 'secret'........

Makes sense in a non-sensical kinda sorta way....
True though....

OHhhhhhh Gawd bless my grandma.... I remember the "OLD RATTLESNAKE" story she always told me...

I had broken up with someone I'd been with for a long time when I was in my early 30s and thought I wanted him back..... I cried and cried, and thought I'd made a mistake in ending our long-term relationship.... She sat me down and said,

"I'm going to tell you a story.... It's a story about a rattle snake.... A young gal got this rattlesnake in her early 20s and cared for it, and fed it.. cleaned its cage... daily for almost 10 years... the snake tried to bite her daily.... constantly flared it's temper at her... and almost poisoned her many times... however.. faithfully, she tended to the care of the snake... One day, the rattlesnake died...... The girl was devastated... She cried and cried.. and grieved for a long time..... She swore she'd do anything to have the snake back WHY? Because she had cared for this snake for so long... and it was part of her life... regardless of how the snake treated her... she was used to that......"

I sat there and thought for a moment... and then realized... she was trying to tell me... It was not LOVE I was missing.. it was the FAMILIARITY.... Being with SOMEONE.. ANYONE... was better than being alone..... Until I learned that I could be happy on my own.... I would not be able to be truly happy with someone else...

I've never forgotten that story....I miss grandma!!!!! kiss
