Since being unlucky enough to be put on piles of anti-biotics years ago, i didn't get the advice that i should have taken probiotics to help populate my GI. Unfortunately if you don't Candida Albicans my overgrow and make you feel quite sick.

You have a lovely choice to get rid of this yeast, use medication or diet to starve it to death. Now mine was untreated for some time, doctors didn't have a clue and i eventually went toxic and became allergic one by one to all the food groups!

There's a brutal diet to clear it. No carbohydrate, no sugar, no starch. Nothing. I browsed Youtube, and because i had this quiety brewing away making me feel like death warmed up fora few years mine is well and truely hard to shift!

No fruit, sugar, bread, wheat or anything tasty for months, and by that i do mean nearly six months now. I've been on anti-fungal medication to try to kill it as well and i still have a white furry tongue.

When i go shopping i see others trolleys full of processed food, but being free of fruit, and everything tasty is really tough. On the plus side i've got a nice flat stomache and appear to be in much better shape than most men my age, but that is no consolation when you cannot have an orange, banana or potatoes in a meal.

If anyone has beat this gem that is haunting me, or food ideas i'm all open to ideas! I cannot wait to use my juicer again......

Hi Robbie, gave you tried a TCM ( Traditional Chinese Medicine) practitioner?

They look at problems differently, and more holistically. They may treat it with a mixture of Chinese herbs, and maybe acupuncture to open up blockages.

You could be back eating oranges before you know it.smile

I haven't tried that, but i have spoken to a herbalist/healer. As a result i had to stop juicing fruit, and i've introduced lots or garlic, lemon, ginger and oregano to my diet. Lots of anti-fungal stuff.

Try my normal drink, which isn't bad but it may frighten some.
Celery (4 stalks)
Cucumber
Lemon
Garlic
Ginger
Cayenne Pepper (1 Tablespoon in a pint of the above).

It cleans you out, and has high anti-fungal properties but it still isn't killing off my Candida. I'm desperate to have some roast potatoes.

Yep i cook with that, but mostly stick to raw uncooked food. Dreading the cold weather as that is when i'll want to comfort eat hot food.

I bought 2 chickens this week to make chicken & veg soup. But even adding paprika, cumin, corriander etc it doesn't taste as filling as it would with a couple of potatoes in it.

Roll in Xmas. If i could could knock myself out for 3 months and wake up and the candida was dead i would be a happy sausage.

I hate celery, but the rest would be tasty. I use garlic and ginger a lot anyway.

Try TCM if you want an alternative. I once had a stomach complaint that no regular medication could cure. I was prescribed chinese herbs. They were horrible, but knocked it on its head. Forever.

If you ever have stomache problems, i can suggest something that will even help clear up ulcerated colitus. It's called "Kefir".

You can get kefir grains to pop into water, and there is a variety that will turn milk into probiotics in 48 hours. I now grow both and give it to people i know that have anything like an upset stomache. Problems stop very fast, and cost is virtually nil.

Kefir yogurt is a probiotic yogurt. I've had it and it's quite good. I don't know if you can have it but Goggle it and see what ya think.

Kefir? I will definitely look into that.
I have just been on antibiotics (which I hate doing) so have been taking probiotics, and yoghurt also. I need to keep the flora as intact as possible.

I've heard holding coconut oil in your mouth for a while will get rid of that furry tongue.

Jac, i've eaten enough of it i should be looking like a coconut by now.

Would you believe i've even drunk 3 oz's of gum turpentine, twice a week, mixed with olive oil, and that had an effect, but didn't kill it.

So i've now resorted to big pharma, and been on Fluroxizol for nearly 2 months. No response, but i'm told it may take 3 months, which continually will take 90 days.

Add a highly restrictive diet, nasty medication, weird side effects and risking liver damage i will have felt crap for 6 months due to a yeast. It's got quite a survival strategy, and it seems my candida are the "Iron Men" version of the organism.

I thought with the Fluroxizol it was better taken in bursts with breaks, so you don't develop immunity to it?

Your supposed to take it for a month, 50mg a day for a month. For local infections, it's dependant on weight and other factors.

I tried a month on, then a month off. No result, bar a dry tongue. So i've now been back on about another 25 days, and will have to check my liver function as a result.

Candida has also cross the blood brain barrier, which means my poor body will have been hammered with it. I'm fully expecting to have to do 3 months worth. Funnily enough i do not sweat, but i can feel moisture being pushed out under the eyes to the tops of my cheeks. It's badically pushing the toxins out of my body through my face. Imagine that!

Main thing is it's gone as fast as possible, then i can celebrate by being more social, because like this you cannot eat out, visit people etc etc as you appear and behave a bit like a food contol freak.

I've put off doing things for months while hoping it will be dead any day now. That day never seems to come though, but i hear when it does it's like a lightbulb switching back on.

mollybaby: I shall go buy kefir tomorrow, I have been reading up on it since you mentioned it. Sounds like what I need.

It works fantastic. What you need is a glass jar with a flip top lid, a wooden spoon, sive and a fridge! Typically the probiotics are 50 times more powerful than anything you'll buy from the shops.

Milk Kefir will basically be yoghurt in 2 days when left out of the fridge. That will stop powerful diarrhea in 24/48 hours of the type that is as bad as colitis. That's really bad, as in people can have diarrhea for a year. This stopped someone suffering like that in 3 days.

My gi went mad when i was toxic for a month, and Kefir fixed me in 3 days. I now recommend it to everyone after my experience. Made sure to use a wooden spoon and plastic sive, as it's a live organism and doesn't appear to like metal spoons etc.

I never use metal utensils for anything like that. Even henna doesn't like metal grin

Does water kefir really taste like lemonade?

Not to me. Mine tastes of water with a tinge of lemon in it, but not lemonade. Mind you i'm riddled with Candida so it might taste like it. The longer you leave it the stronger it will get.

I even have added lemon in mine in the fridge. Proper lemonade can bs made with 1/2 a fresh lemon and 3 apples put through a juicer.

My juicer is missing my fruit input.....
