LoL, I'm gonna sell my stock in Carnival, no wait, I did that already after the other news.. Poor Carnival. Nothing good ever happens for them.
Five score and 7 years ago, when a wee toddler I was on a cruise ship and I developed Chicken Pox. Once it was spotted the quarantine flag was hoisted and the captain had to put an armed guard outside our cabin door to prevent the incredibly ticked off passengers from throwing me overboard. This situation with us not being allowed to disembarke anywhere continued for several days before we reached a non-third world port where Chicken Pox was considered no big thing.
I look back and laugh at that, but the fate of Carnival's Carnival Magic may not be so easily resolved. True the lab worker has yet to show symptoms. However, if she does Carnival Magic carries over 4,000 passengers and crew. All of them quarantined enmass on a potential plague ship off the coast of Belize. If Ebola rages on the ship one can probably expect the local Navies to do whatever needs to be done to prevent the escape of the carriers. Even if the ship doesn't suffer mysterious explosions and sinking, how does one disinfect an entire ocean liner? Yeah I know wait 4 days and all the virus will die. Sure absolutely. Who is the volunteer to go first on the ship without the protective gear?
Perhaps this will be the mechanism for the virus to reach India when the ship is sold for scrap and poor folk earning 4 cents a day go onboard to cut the metal apart..

Nurses and lab tech supervisors are supposed to be amongst our brightest. College educated all that. But neither the nurse who flew back and forth (and now over 800 airport workers and passengers, as well as 16 close contacts have to be tracked twice a day because of her), nor the lab tech supervisor who has risked a whole cruise ship saw anything at all unwise about using commercial transport after being notified they may have been exposed. I half wait for the news another one rides the Amtrack in rush hour.
Okay, those were our college educated smart folk, the ones who cooperated and turned themselves in. How many of the new folks to monitor will fit inside that box?

Remmember Sars. I think its about the same thing. Just a scare but the tought is certainly possible. Thinking a special virus or chemical could wipe out large area's is really plausible and probable even. Cant fight the outcome much.
Hell is turning lose here in the US. Making the film of the 1990s called The Outbreak to come true. Actor Dustin Hoffman player a perfect role there. Who here on forum does know this film ?

Never heard of the movie so I just watched the trailer for it.
Absolutely horrifying. Very, very much like Ebola.
I won't watch the whole movie....way too scary and likely to happen
So we wait. Wait for the day we go to the supermarket or the 7-11 and the clerk is sick. We call 911, but either we get 'all circuits are busy, please try your call again later,' or we get through once or twice and although an ambulance is promised, it never comes. Later that night you see a building on fire on the horizon and realize it is the hospital, but you hear no sirens, only far away gun shots.. CNN and Foz are now talking about an upcoming election and there is no news on Ebola. In the morning you return to the 7-11 and try not to see the dead clerk on the floor. Many of the canned goods are gone and while you think of grabbing some, you suddenly realize the dead clerk on the floor, she is who put them on the shelf, so it all becomes a survival question. Are you better off handling the cans she handled before dying, or would you be better off looking elsewhere. While you consider this a woman pushes by you with her children and they grab arm fulls of cans and throw them into the back of her car and drive away. So you go home and wait to see what else happens..
