My Grandma used to make this tart kind of thing, like strawberry jam and coconut, with wavy edges on the pastry. I think it was very popular in the 70's.

Yes it's a hard feeling to explain - through her 30s I somehow felt she was still my little girl but at 40 I've come to realise she's a grown woman conversing

I bought a lovely, modern jewellery box for her special birthday .. she's lucky she's not getting the pink musical one with the twirling ballerina inside giggle

My Mom made a spaghetti dish, so simple but so tasty. I make it a lot now when I'm in a hurry.
My favourite, though, was her ginger tart smitten

allthegoodnamest: Sounds delicious

I'm a great offal fan & i respect your choice but what prompted your decision to go vegan.

Oh I'm not vegan John.conversing

Ovo-lacto vegetarian, I do eat eggs and dairy products but not meat or chicken.

I abstained from seafood also for many years but have snuck in a bit over recent times which I'm not happy about and have discontinued for ethical reasons.

It all kind of evolved when I realised I was no longer eating meat, I cut out eating chicken then decided not to eat anything with a 'face' laugh

I'm fine with it as I love to cook and enjoy a varied diet with lots of interesting and yummy dishes thumbs up

I think I'm going along those lines myself, you know , cutting down on meat during the week. I find it uncomfortable sleeping, now I'm not as active as years gone by & by active , I mean playing sports.doh laugh

Yes I find a vegetarian diet suits me, it's food as fuel - easy to digest and it converts to energy which is quickly burned up conversing

Millions of great recipes on the net, loads I've printed off which are go-to faves.

Particularly Asian-style which suit our climate and lifestyle here thumbs up

Mum used to make a dish called "mud". It is made from brown lentils, broccoli, and some bacon. Good winter food, very tasty.

Oh yum I love those lentil stew kinda things conversing

I do one that involves lentils, sweet potato and olives, herbs and bay leaves for extra flavour.

It's real comfort food, especially during those fierce cold snowy winters that we suffer, eh Pat giggle
