One2note: How domesticated are you??
Personally , I couldn't survive without a woman, whether it be a partner or a helping hand, but I've noticed that many men can.. In fact, some do their own washing & ironing & some actually Hoover & dust... If this is in fact the case, then what is the woman's role in the relationship??

I was born and raised in a household with both parents working and everyone pulled their weight from as early as they were able ... so I could peel potatoes from about six yo, by 9 was developing 'sharp knife' skills and at 11 could handle making Sunday lunch and the 'ordinary' everyday meals that were standard for the mid / late sixties.

I suppose my mother employed the Tom Sawyer Educational Strategy and whatever we were NOT allowed to do ( using vacuum / washing machine or etc) we pestered until we could ( You recall the fence TS was asked to paint?)

A period of teen rebellion against what I considered parental oppression (ideas change) led me to the discovery (circa 16yo) of pre-blended curry powders which produced various strengths of toxic fumes while being cooked - the ideal non violent answer to that matter ... and later I learned how to cook curry properly from 'real ingredients)

( I regard learning how to cook curry as a basic male survival skill and a great aid to dating )

Very few items these days actually require ironing - the occasional formal shirt perhaps and dress trousers perhaps, but even those can often be thrown in the washing machine and air dry keeping the crease!

A woman's role in the relationship ... becomes obvious after a while living with one.

It's plainly to provide a steady (if not uninterrupted) stream of wants and to create problems that enable the bloke to stay sharp and develop his intellectual and emotional problem solving skills!

When a man who can't look after himself falls into the clutches of a woman then he becomes 'domesticated' in the same way as a hunting dog when it's retired .... both have their balls chopped off and end up fat and useless!

mollybaby: Of course not.

But I presume the person is at home because there are small children there.

And if there are, then I would expect the other partner to do their fair share when they do get home.

"..If you don't know me by now..."

Read my lips: I said 'retired', plus check my age: I am no spring chicken and neither is she. laugh
Kids are grown. Is it so hard for it to be factual that some women are l@@y or plain se@@@sh? jaw drop

"The point is: if someone is at home full time while the other partner is at work full time, do you expect the one at work to come home and do everything for themself?"

No mention of retired there.

I don't check out profiles, so I had no reason to check out yours.

I presumed it was just an example, so I gave an answer based on that example.

Am yes both women an men can be selfish.

Post # 54:

Lonely1: Just to let you know, when the hubby retired she said her new job was to sleep in, read books, and have fun with her friends: while I was still working fulltime and bringing home the pork slices.

So sometimes having a woman does not mean you don't have to do your own ironing, etc. The secret ingredient to getting some women to do things for you is, perhaps, love

In todays day and age many women want to be like us men: hunting, fishing, playing golf, and riding motorcycles. We have to learn to do our own domestic stuff...some even expect men to do the washing, ironing, hoovering & dusting as a sign of our love for them.

"..all the things that we've been through..you should understand me, like I understand you..."hug
