I hear a lot of people talking about the " good old days" here on the forums.. I , personally , am a reletevly newcomer, so for those veterans of the CS forums, what was so different about the forums then , that made it so great?

I’ve been here for quite some time; I don’t remember any ”good old days”. People were quite rude back then. It’s a lot better atmosphere on the forum now, especially when the mods are cleaning up more often.

I've noticed the fun element has been lacking in recent months .. I've also noticed a lot of people have disappeared, which is expected but there is a distinct lack of new faces appearing, and I wonder if it's the people or the topics discussed, that's deterring them from posting. Hi pete

Maybe you're right but we are adults after-all, and most things are said in jest. But I take your point that there are very few topics that are up for discussion.

One2note: I can understand there are people who enjoy a political debate but recently , the forums have been inundated with them & they all seem to be similar..
I may have just become immune to them, but I haven't noticed as many in the last few weeks *crosses fingers*
I remember spending countless hours in the forums, bouncing from thread to thread like I was going from party to party in real life. On Friday night, people had a life but somehow met here after it to converse in the threads and have a good laugh. Meantime, while all this is going on, the emails were coming in and you were having your own private conversations with the same people in the threads. Then people started arguing a lot and that's when I just called it quits and left CS all together. There were a lot more people from the United States in the forums at that time. There were people from all over the world in there but a good mix from the U.S., as well. I have made some amazing friends from this site. We are still close to this day.

There is a cycle that comes and goes ,looking through rose tinted glasses is no way to be objective when judging current forums .

All you have to do is go back into the forum archives and compare the topics between then and now to find your answer. Yeppers, this place was rockin back in the day.

Oh yeah, it was ok weird, so not bad. Now it just weirder.. . as we are... sometimes!
Well, I remember 8 years ago, there were some different people. There are some nice people now just different. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. Different people can change the atmosphere.

'the good ol days' are gone... best to concentrate on now.
having said that...
there was a time when folks were more interested in having a laugh, being more accepting of each other, meeting ups, intelligent/good discourses in the threads...and a lot less time spent proving 'Right'.
