The greyhound in the photo is Conrad aka Gonawabie. He was my first greyhound adopted in 1992. I lost him just last year to old age and heart failure. He was a kind soul, ever patient, never demanding. Always by my side or within view. In my mind he was perfect in every way. I still miss him terribly.

You are welcome. I have no children of my own and I love kids. Never was lucky enough to get that far. So.....my pets are my kids. Probably sounds ridiculous to some people, but all you animal lovers know what I'm talking about. We've even settled into a morning and bedtime ritual with who gets petted first and last, who gets fed first and last, etc.

Ain't life grand.

A 16 year old fluffy red cat named Sonny, and 15 year old German Shep mix named Poidog. We lost Suzzy to cardiac failure secondary to hemangiosarcoma, she was a very sweet 15 year old red merle Aussy. I would have a houseful if I didn't need to travel for my work.grin grin grin

I had an Akita, who was my baby.. light of my life. I have no children so she was my child. I got her at five weeks old and she went everywhere with me but work and then she was with her "grandma", yes my mom called herself that.

I lost her last May and stil miss her desperately!! She was my angel in fur, in so many very real ways I owe her my life.

I now have two black lab, german shepherd mix, a brother and sister that I adopted last summer, they've had a rough year so are quite the handful yet. They are seven, two of the sweetest tempered dogs I've ever met. Janice Joplin, looks like a blk lab, and is my bouncy crazy child now. Jerry Garcia, looks like a german shep except the tips of his ears flop, he is my quiet sensitive, reserved child. These two have some serious "behavior" (I hate to use that term but am not sure what else to call them) problems so anyone out there that would be willing to give me any advice I'd welcome it.

I have 2 Golden Retrievers, a Pit and Lab mix, 6 cats and an African
Grey Parrot. They are all awesome and well behaved. I have even managed to train one of my cats and working on the others. When I say train, I mean teaching, no...off, lay down, etc.

I hope to open a rescue one day for all of those wonderful animals out there that are mistreated, homeless or just need lots of love.

Ozzie is my dapple daschund weighing between 15 to 20 pounds and Buddy is a small terrier weighing about 6 pounds. Ozzie loves to play fetch and his squeak toys. Buddy doesn't care for toys. They are both about 8 years old and both are adopted from the animal shelter. They are very spoiled and act like children.
