How do "you" spot a liar?

I have difficulty with this one. I want to believe the person because I feel everyone has a chance to prove themselves but are there any sure ways to spot a liar?

Contradiction in stories and demeanor! Body movement and lack of eye contact I one of the biggest physical signs

if it is that important then really verify their references, run a personal check.
let them know you want proof if it can be obtained and if the person is professional or clean they usually will not object

It doesn't usally take long for there "spots" to appear.
Aside from proof in the spots, your gut ,and time always do tell who someone really is.

I've learned how to spot some, especially the scammers. Usually there are inconsistancies between what's on their profiles and what they tell you.
It doesn't always help to do a background check on them. It isn't hard to go thru a directory and pick out a name. I had two scammers from Nigeria claiming to be from the US and when I did a search on the names, they were actual.

I never could get them on cam or mic. One of the excuses I would get was "uncle doesn't like them on his laptop" This one asked me for money within the first hour of contact.
After a while the "uncle" contacted me saying he would take care of the flight arrangements for her to come to the USA if I helped him. Supposedly he had overseas customers who payed with money orders and USPS checks which can only be cashed here. He wanted me to cash them and then send the money WesternUnion. He gave me a name and address then I gave Yahoo all the info on him and the "niece". Never heard from them again
The second one claimed to be from the Louisville Ky, said she had black hair and brown eyes. The picture "she" sent me showed a blue eyed blonde. This one I couldn't get on cam or mic either.
Both of these "women" were located in Lagos Nigeria
