Is global warming fact or fiction?

I'm trying to think, what agenda could scientists possibly have? Trying to save the earth for our children and grandchildren? The earth has had many trends over millions and millions of years. Look at the US, 500 years ago there wasn't even close the the 300 million people we have now.

Come on people. Scientist's work on government grant money for the most part. You want to keep the money flowing you have to come up with the some results, whether the results are true or not is irrelivant. As long as you can convince people of your findings is all that really matters

Fact - However, there is a school of thought to suggest that it may reverse dramatically into global cooling instead!

How is that going to happen? - Well as the polar ice caps melt by global warming several hundred cubic kilometres of fresh water is being released into the Northern Atlantic Ocean each year. This fresh water is slowly drifting south. When this fresh less dense water, eventually meets up with the Golf Stream bringing warm salty water from the equator, north, this salty and denser water, will become diluted, and as a consequence, will be at some point no longer dense enough to sink again in the north and return south. If this happens, the Gulf Stream current will be 'switched off'.

The amount of heat lost from the warm ocean currents coming north, will be far greater than that being currently produced by global warming.

Thus, certainly, the UK and much of northern Europe could potentially become much colder.
The evidence is building up, and finally becoming more available to the people. very mad

Based on what I have heard, my property will be waterfront property in my lifetime grin D'oh! dropping jaw

Yes global cooling would a consequence of global warming.
It’s a mechanism the planet puts into play when it needs to control sharp temperature fluctuations.

Then I guess we are in alot of trouble. If all scientists working on government grant money are just trying to convince people of what there findings are, regardless of the truth then we have got to question alot of things. Like research on cancer, that smoking ciggaretts is good for you, that carbon monoxide poisoning won't actually kill you, that aids isn't something created by the government, that no one really walked on the moon, the earth is not round, it's flat, cold fusion exists they just don't want you to know about it..... see my point?

Well perhaps if the main stream media would report both sides of story instead of their own agenda, ,maybe we could make some informed decisions about what is reported. There are 2 sides to any issue and we only ever get to hear and read one.

And yes I see your point, hopefully you see mine as well.

I am also fully aware thet you can get any result you want with scientific studies, if selectivly choose what to include and exclude.

Many scientists fuck around with their stupid discusisons about a rigorous definition of the agents causing the warming effects. I say that rudely just because apart from the natural causes for the warming effect, what human beings must be more eager to discuss is what we have done to contribute to this in a terrible way, and if we can still do somehting to reduce it. As for the first point I have to say that the insanity of our "civilization" has probably accelerated certain effects (if it has not produced them at all) without having the means to do something when the disaster comes. As for the second point I have to ask all those naive ones who are so astonished by the shit produced by greedy technology-makers: what the hell all your human wonders will do when the disaster starts?. As it has been the pattern of Western Civilization, it has the means to destroy but not to build anything for life.
I have to add that all the things we know about the movements of the planet, natural processes and stages of our outer-space surroundings have a mysterious harmony with the shit we have done to this planet over the last few hundreds. I have no doubt that the disaster will come but as usual human beings will never learn and will keep destroying, misusing, predating, multiplying, polluting until the bitter end (another proof of our utter inferiority in front of other species)

i believe the trend started long ago but i also believe that we added to the natural cycle and kike a snow ball that is rolloin g down a hill it gets larger and picks up momentem as it grows so yes i believe we have to take the blame for providing the hightest fuel so to speak.

The North Pole ice cap could cause cooling by changing the Gulf stream, but the Antarctic ice is also melting. The Antarctic ice is land based, therfore, by melting it will raise the ocean levels considerably. Manhattan will be under water within 40 years.

We have become victims of our own success, whilst marvelling at our ingenuity; we’ve taken our eye of the proverbial ball

We ignored iceberg warnings, one of the first signs that all was not well with the global environment.

In recent decades glaciers worldwide have begun melting at rates that cannot be explained by historical trends.

We are sacrificing the global environment on the altar of expediency, and now in the lifetime of our species we are facing unprecedented climate change. It is a marked and very serious event in modern history.
