There are "people" who can't see past looks, but for the most part any lasting relationship has to be based on who the person is and what they stand for. I guess we all have certain criteria that we are looking for as "ideal", but don't lose any sleep over the people who are disrespectful - it says more about them than you.

Gotta agree that both sides are guilty of going for looks, it works both ways for most people.

I was married to a great girl, she had three kids of her own and we got along incredibly well. All my friends however, would say, "wow man, you could do alot better than that". wtf?

Later on I had a girlfriend who's name should have been Barbie. We'd go to the beach and every guy is staring. That got boring pretty fast, at first yeah I'm, "wow all these guys think I'm cool", but she was easily the most uninteresting person I'd ever had a conversation with.

So, you just never know eh? Some others have said it and I think its true, if you believe you're sexy, its gonna show.

P.S. Barbie and Ken aren't gonna look like Barbie and Ken 20 years from now, plastic don't age well :)

Well.. I know for myself.... I have gained a lot of weight in the past 4 years.. and I have had to live with it...
Confidence is a big thin... whn you dont think your beautiful.... then no man will ever think you are either... I get hit on when Im out at bas.. Myself.. I dont normally like to pick up there.. so I just ignore it.. but I use to think if any man liked me .. they mnust be drunk..

I joke about my weight.. and make fun of it... but I do it because Im comfortable with who I am.

Now I just need to find someone that I dont have to settle for... I deserve the best man there is... and I deserve no less... so dont let anyone have you thinking you dont..

Cuz they are not after love...they are after material things. Get over it and move on. Find the people who love you for you, (just dont come after mine!!)

I think it's pretty messed up when a guy only wants the skinny ones. We big girls need some loving too dammit. It seems like guys think they can get everything they want from the skinny girls, and only get a piece of ass or something along those lines from us big girls. But I do feel you on your opinion tho. I've had a lot of guys just want me for what I said above. I'm tired of those kinda guys. I actually wanna find a guy that loves me for me inside and out, you know??

All one needs to do is look around - note couples who are truly happy. DUh.

Guys like girls that are skinny? Ppffffttt. I like a woman with some meat on her bones. But not bigger than myself. I like bodies of the older women that have had a few kids, but didn't let theirselves go to bad. Take Catherine Zeta Jones for instance, I love her body and she is not skinny. Since most of the men overseas love the skinny women, send their asses there. For this guy, I will take what is left over.

Being a guy, I can tell you that we are visual beings. We are turned on by what we see. It's not right, but it's the truth. I think women seek substance vs. aesthetics, while men think opposite.

That's why we men get in relationships that backfire because we were interested in how a person looks instead of how that person will treat us.

I don't know about all the other guy's, but I'm not looking for a super-model. I try to stay open minded to all, and look at a woman as a whole. I want to know what her personality is like, along with mentality. Whats her life like around her, what kind of friends does she have. Looks, color, short/tall, does not bother me, like I said, I try to stay open minded. I've dated really good lookin' women and average women, skinny and heavy. You never know if that girl is going to be the love of your life, and personally, I don't want to miss the boat.
