this is just driving me nutts,does a cashew grow on a tree?vine?--but mostly-does it have a shell,and if so has anybody ever seen it?? just a dumb cajun!

its comes from atree native to brazil, and when it grows it has a shell on it

why is it that i have seen just about every nut it its shell,no punn intended.but you never see a bag of cashews unshelled?

Tree but a small one like a small evergreen. Brazil is the native homeland for the Cashew Tree. The Nuts come form it. No Shell and wethere a Nut or a seed or even a fruit can be debatable.
