I heard Vista is sweet from a tech classmate of mine. I haven't heard of any security issues so far. I've heard nothing but rave reviews in my circles. If you are somewhat computer literate you shouldn't have any problems with vista.

Ironically enough...the very features that "make vista more secure" have vulnerabilities. I've been developing software for Vista (no, not on Vista), it's a pain in the patella. And...I can point you to articles already showing PLENTY of vulnerabilities.

And then...there's UAC. #$%%

I actually went out and bought a new laptop with xp two weeks ago when I heard everyone was going to have vista. I found only four that still had xp and bought one of them. I don't want the nightmare of finding all the little quirks that have not been patched. I have heard stories already about not being able to use some things with vista.

ok, maybe its not THAT serious, but they need at LEAST a year if not more to get all the bugs out and for hardware to catchup.
