I had two so called Russian women try to scam me out of money, but I was lucky to have a family that cares and warned me not to send them any money. However, the dating site I'm on right now seems to have legit Russian women, none have asked for any money yet.
Like I said!! "Very vulnerable state"!! You have to be there to understand!! Thought I was helping very sick people in Africa - chalking it up to live and learn!! And very long story so please do not judge me!

Ah, yes, I think I understand. I found out if you meet anyone online and they mention Africa, it could possibly be a scammer. Oh, I'm not judging you in anyway... Sorry if I sounded like I was... :) please forgive!

I'm very new at this but , I do not think that it is bad for a woman to e-mail a guy frisit. we live in a world where women are equal to men as far as jobs and paying her way, why shouldn't we be able to step up and send a flower or e-mail. I think it should be every womans own choice , Don't you ladies ?

Absolutely. I have been the first to make contact and some haven't even replied back but it would be a waste of my energy to take it personally. I know there are many I am not interested in who contact me as well. I think there has to be chemistry and it happens at the right time and place for each of us. But you never know unless you try.

If this is true, why is this considered bad? Why can't females contact a guy first if they are interested? I've never understood the notion that it always seems it is a guy's responsibility to make the first move. (I guess it's because I've never had much success at it )

Arabella, you are so correct, cant speeak for anyone else, but for me I like it, as someome else said, it takes the preasure off, somewhat. In fact it happened too me today, a lady sent me a flower saying she would like too hear from me. So, I in turn sent her an e-mail anda flower. We converesed back and forth for about an hour after that. Found out we have a lot in common. Just hope it works out well, but going too take it slow.wine cool

I think it has everything to do with your own expectations, and your comfort level with assertive women.

If you ever get serious, they're going to be the boss anyway, so you might as well relax and enjoy it.

The best you can possibly hope is the opportunity to choose your management style (to be applied to, not by you)

Do you want it direct and didactic, or passive-aggressive and cloying?

Somewhere between a one-night stand and a hostage crisis, there may be someone for me, and maybe not.

In a perfect world, the management style would be joint-venture,
and if we did meet online, and if she had emailed first, it wouldn't surprise me.
