Interview With A Vampire

Whoever produced Queen of the Damned should be shot. The movie strayed away from the book so far it was ridiculous. I got in argument with a guy before I watched the movie. I have read all of Anne Rice's books. This guy was trying to tell me that Marius made Lestat. I told him no it was Magnus and the guy laughed at me and said there wasn't even a character named Magnus in the movie.D'oh!

The Lord of the Rings movies were good. Though I will admit I have never read the books.

The DaVinci Code-good movie though the book is better.

can't think of any others right now.

I have to agree with your analysis of the plot of queen. However, I liked the casting in that movie better than interview, despite the glaring plot problems...

Tom Cruise fits the character Lestat as well as an elephant fits into my Levi's...barfing

And why we're on the subject of bad casting, what idiot cast Keanu Reeves as Constantine?

John Constantine is British, and a blonde...D'oh! mumbling

Why is it that the producers-directors- or whoever is in charge of casting can't make a white-blonde Lestat???? I mean, his most striking feature, his hair, and he has been portrayed, not once, but TWICE with dark hair...

And the story about how Marius was made, in the movie... nooooooo! And no, Magnus wasn't in the movie, but it was in the book "The Vampire Lestat" which is my personal favorite of all of Anne Rices' books. I think Queen of the Damned was such a great book, and the movie was such a shame. Akasha was as white as a marble statue... I hope they make "Lestat", and are more careful about choosing the actor who'll play him.

Another of Anne Rice's book that was made into film, actually a mini-series, "The feast of All Saints" It was a great mini-series, with many of the most notorious African-American actors nowadays, including James Earl Jones.

The Count of Montecristo, Alejandro Dumas
The Three Musketeers
Gone with the Wind
Like water for Chocolate ("Como agua para chocolate")

Touching the Void is one of the few films that
equals if not surpasses the book.
A truly remarkable story whether you read the
book or watch the film.

I agree, casting Stewart Townsend as Lestat was a better choice than Tom Cruise, he had more of the erotic aura that I associate with Lestat, but he wasn't Lestat. I think Brad Pitt would have made a better Lestat in "Interview", at least he has the height... I would have casted Tom Cruise as Armand (is there anything "cherubic" in Antonio Banderas face?" pfft sticking out tongue ).
