Crash Film of Princess Diana

Tonight here in the UK, Channel 4 are planning to broadcast a film which shows close-up the injured and dying Princess Diana still at the crash scene. There have been moves to make the broadcasters re-think this and they have said its going ahead, it will be "sensitively done" (apparently her face will be blanked out). It has been declared that the film will be going ahead, as planned, the broadcasters saying they are unrepentent.

Your thoughts on this? Will our principles of shock and outrage succumb to the curiosity of the macanre?? Who would be prepared to watch it?

I've nothing against channel 4 broadcasting this. I think if they don't, then some other channel will show it. I don't know if it's even been shown on some website before now anyway, If it has lots will have already seen it.

I do also think a lot of people will watch it out of curiosity. I won't be watching it. It's not my thing plus I'm squeamish about programmes like that

I think the majority will watch it, purely for the curiosity...there is so much suspicion surounding her death, and this will be the reason people watch it.

I agree with some of the other comments, they should let her be now, and allow her family to peace and respect that they deserve. She left children behind and i hate to think what this sort of program is doing to them. It interputs the greaving process. Enough is enough.

id watch it just because death is part of life and human behavior is interesting. kinda like seeing someone have their head lopped off by a 12 year old kid.
but if youve seen one beheading video youve pretty much seen them all.. unless of course youve seen the one of that asian guy screaming like a bitch...
watching the world destroy itself thru the magic of internet and tv can be shocking but it sure makes for some good entertainment.

When are they finally going to let go of her? It's been what, 10 years now? For crying out loud, nobody is that important.

when that tragedy happened, my son and his friends, dont ask me how, got lots of pics about the accident. Well, not a great view really, she was in very very bad shape, but if the Tv wanna show it now, I think need to show everything for only 1 time and after let her rest in peace. She deserves it.
