If I invent something, it will just show how much of a dork I really am.

"Hi, my name is Tracy, and this is my widget-whacker *insert imaginary persons name*"

"If my widget-whacker calls, I'm not here."

See.

Ladyfriend is safe.sticking out tongue

I just introduce him as my friend "insert name here". It's quite obvious from how we interact with one another that he is my boyfriend/man/lover/the one I'm with/the one one I'm going home with.

Those of us who are a ummm...certain age, are a little too old for boyfriend/girlfriend. So what do you call someone you're dating seriously?

I really wanna know, the last time I dated they were boys!
I just use his name as in this X. If i am asked to define the relationship I say my lover or friend depending on the level of intimacy. I might say why do you need to know?

How about my "special friend" or my "lady or gentleman friend"? That is a very tough question.

Guess the phrase "main squeeze" is outdated as well.

Sorry paws, I'm not laughing at you, Tracy got me with widget-whacker and deelybob!

I usually say my friend, just wondering if anyone had a better idea.

I hate significant other, and ditto to what Kat said about old lady, old man. Ladyfriend is good for you men to use, I like that, but gentleman friend is just too long. Dave, "main squeeze" was outdated in the 70's. "Special friend" sounds like the short bus.
I have a friend from MN who used companion, I always thought that sounded like someone who sits with the elderly.

I guess Bajan and Butterfly are right, there's really no need to define the relationship, it is pretty obvious. Thanks for all your input, it was good for a laugh! giggle
