So how did you and how will you (when you get there) help the Iraqi people.

Please please I hope your government never decides that Ireland needs help.
How will i help i will help by making sure that people can drive down the street without fear of getting blown up. Or stop insurgents from killing civs. I will help by giving all i can food and aid to Iraqi children. I will help by making sure that people wake up in the moring. I am a father i know how it feels to fear for your childrens well being and i also know that i would be crushed if my daughter never could go outside because i didnt want here to view the carnage. But i also know that as a father i would give everything to make sure that oneday she could see the light and that oneday she could have her freedom. We are not the fighting force this is a civil war we are just police their to back the party that supports freedom instead of another dictorship. Nothing would make me happier then to see a little Iraqi girl playing in the street. Everyone frowns on us for Iraq but look at the happiness and freedom we brought to Afganistan. The children in the country now can feel free to get on the internet or dress how they feel without fear of being put to death or thrown in jail. Sometimes we as american have to help out people even when others feel it is wrong. At the beginning of WW2 many americans thought it was stupid to fight with Britian against Germany but we did and now people praise us for that. Im not saying that it will happen over night but i know that as long as im there i will help all i can as a father, as a soldier, and as a freeman!!

Charming chap....

Patton was not known for his sense of humor, and his reckless words often made him his own worst enemy. Unlike Eisenhower, who was popular with troops partly for his self-deprecating humor, Patton disliked jokes aimed at himself. Soldiers stationed in the Pacific theater of war were not pleased with what was going on in the European continent and disliked him for his perceived disregard for the lives of his troops. Patton actually had the utmost respect for the men serving in his command but had no regard for men that were "shell shocked." The cartoonist Bill Mauldin ridiculed Patton several times in his comics, prompting Patton to summon Sergeant Mauldin to his headquarters for a dressing-down. On the other hand, he was himself capable of the occasional blunt witticism: "The two most dangerous weapons the Germans have are our own armored halftrack and jeep. The halftrack because the boys in it go all heroic, thinking they are in a tank. The jeep because we have so many God-awful drivers." During the Battle of the Bulge, he famously remarked that the Allies should "let the sons-of-bitches [Germans] go all the way to Paris, then we'll cut 'em off and round 'em up!" He also suggested that the German forces could attack towards the British and create "another Dunkirk". His remarks frequently ridiculed General Montgomery and at times the Soviet Red Army, contributing to inter-Allied discord. In the context of coalition warfare, these remarks were occasionally harmful. Eisenhower wisely used Patton's high profile with the press to contribute to Operation Fortitude; he knew the press would report on his appearances in Britain and that the Germans would pick up these reports.

Patton deliberately cultivated a flashy, distinctive image in the belief that this would motivate his troops. He was usually seen wearing a highly polished helmet, riding pants, and high cavalry boots. He carried flashy ivory-handled, nickel-plated revolvers as his most famous sidearms (a Colt Single Action Army .45 (aka "Peacemaker") and later the addition of a S&W Model 27 .357). His vehicles carried oversized rank insignia and loud sirens. His speech was riddled with profanities. The toughness of his image and character appeared well-suited to the conditions of battle. His theatrics were admired by many, so much so that, upon his death, upwards of 20,000 soldiers volunteered to be pall bearers at his funeral[citation needed]. This came as a surprise to the American populace, as the media had often portrayed Patton's armies as disliking him.

They will now that their fathers died for something bigger then them and i know that my daughter will me proud of me just as much as my grandmother and my greataunt where proud of their father when he died serving his country. I should be mad that you would even bring that up but as a soldier i have thought of it and when you bring that to battle is when you die!

With respect,
The iraqi people do not want you there, they did not ask for your help and if levelling the country is your idea of helping then god help us all.
Afganistan was at the time you went in there a third world country, and to find one man you levelled that too.
Do you really, in all honesty believe that george bush is in iraq so little children can go outside and play safely.
Please. He does not give a rats arse about american children never mind iraqi children.

Again it is none of your business how these people dress.
They have a culture that we in the west can never understand but can only respect and leave them to it.

your president fooled you in to thinking that it was about wmd's. we all know that is bull shit.
Make no mistake, his crimes against humanity is not only about murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent men women and children but is also against the american people who are also loosing their children and he will bring your economy to its knees.
He has alienaited the u.s. from most european countries and most of the rest of the world see him as satan himself. He will not suffer. His money is tucked safely away and he will lose no one he cares about in this or any other war.
This debate is not anti american, it is anti george bush.
I hope you come home safely from iraq, and i hope you all come home safe, but do not be fooled any more. This man is evil. He has you all fooled.

Om the contrary madam, I would rather have more like Paul, this man is a warrior, he fights to win, just as he has been trained. If I were a young man as he is, I would consider it an honor to be able to serve my country in his company.

When a nation finds itself in a war, regardless of how we got there, I want men who are hungry to win, who want to end it as soon as possible, so they can come back home and be with their loved ones, And someday when they are old and Grey and their grandchild is sitting on their knee, and asked them "What did you do to fight against terror and Islamo fascism"? Then they can proudly say, " I sure as hell wasn`t shoveling shit in Louisiana"

Patton us one of mt hero's, Patton was a winner.

General Patton was to me a great guy..BUT,,he did'nt win that last decisive tank battle..SORRY..he did'nt win it by force..he won because the Krauts ran out of fuel...again,,it was not a decisive battle fought and won.
The fact that the royal tiger could out shoot,,out run,,both backwards and forwards,,could fire with more range and accuracy than the sherman.
The sherman was kown as the ronson tank..because it was full of petrol fumes,,(Tigers were diesel),,if you lit a cig,,you could blow the tank up,,,also its armour against the 88mm German guns was bloody near useless.
Patton would have lost,,there is no doubt about it.
But he was lucky.
By the way it Patton that wanted to finnish of the Russians at the end of the second world war,,but Rosevelt declined.

we are of different generations you and I so my tale is that a lot of my extended family died in world war two serving their country too but the only sympathy I ever felt was for the people they left behind because I knew their sadness - we are very much from opposite sides of the divide - I wish this divide didnt exist

Patton was a great man not because he won the last decisive tank battle but because he knew what and how to win battles not with being nice and grabbing ass but by taking head shots and never giving a inch. He knew that pussys never won a fight by sitting on their hands and kissing their asses goodbye. Im glad you pussy ass brits got out of Iraq so that the big boys can show you how its done. We eat, shit and live to fight and we will do it till the day i die. And then my daughters generation will do the same not because we love it so much but because someone has to stop being god damn push overs and letting dictors show them whats up. When will yall learn that noone ever got ahead in this world by shaking hands and kissing ass. You dont know the first thing about war and what happens afterwards you just want to be there to say i told you so. Well listen up you pieace of dirt Patton was a great man that never gave up and never gave in. I wish that todays politically correct world would take a lesson from Patton and grow some god damn balls!

these are your words.
ARE YOU IN SOME SORT OF DENIAL,,,DON'T LIKE THE TRUTH OR SOMETHING?????

"Patton was a great man not because he won the last decisive tank battle"

I just told you smarty..he did NOT win that battle,,if the krauts had'nt have run out of fuel..you and us would have been massacred..FACT..now get yer head around some facts for a change and do some reading,,THE TIGERS WERE VASTLY SUPERIOR,,THE ROYAL TIGER WAS KING OF THAT BATTLEFIELD.
The shells we were throwing from the shermans and the churchills were BOUNCING OFF the Tigers...ITS a FACT..
Thus..Patton won by default,,NOT a decisive win..OK.

And as for British PUSSIES,,idiot..we owned 2/3 of the planet..Is that a pussy.
We faught with you in Korea,,you called the shots..Vietnam we knew was a mistake and kept clear...seems we were right..NOT PUSSY,,Sensible.
England has won more wars than the Yanks have been involved with ever.
England fits inside Montana,,yet the Russians in the cold war,,(that owned 1/6th of the planet) would'nt take us on.
Ask yer grandad if English fighting men are pussies..I've been to America..and the old boys have great respect for men.
Get off yer soapbox and tell this stuff to kid..they'll listen to yer..idiot

Just for you i asked my grandpa what he thought of Brits in Korea and he said just what i thought they were good for nothing but whinning and bitching and thats all i seem to see. I give up on you and trying to please yall. When the fighting goes on at least i know that i have the balls to do something.

And as far as Patton goes it wasnt wheather he won or lost or won by default it was the manner in which he spoke and won. He knew that war wasnt for pieace of shit pussies that never have picked up a rifle let alone fire it. I ask you what war did you fight in what war did you have to watch as some towelhead son of a bitch blew off your buddies head. Ive seen to many of my buddies come back missing limbs, burnt, shot up and mental. I fight for them so that they can come home and taste freedom and i will kill anyone that gets in their way home. The president of Iran is a out spoken enemy of western forces. He has been quoted to say that Isreal should join america and britian and that every Jew in the middle east should be put to death. Not only that but he came out yesterday to say that Iran has meet their goal of 3000 centerfugies to build enrich uranium. He has put his country into a terrible state where even the basic rights are not allowed. Women are not allowed to ride bikes and men are not allowed to have western hairstyles or even cut their beards. So my question is do we let this go on or do we fight? It would be nice just to sit and talk and drink tea together but do you really think that someone that wants to eraticate the Jews and kill all western devils will actually listen to us. You already know what i think invade Iran and promote democracy. But i want to hear what you think. Plz dont get shitty with each other over their views just debate in a civil manner.
Hell yeah!
Nuclear weapons, or not. We need to knock the major peices off the board.
Next is China and N. Korea. thumbs up

My point exactly.
You think I would'nt ,,or my mates would'nt would'nt do the same.
Fight anyone or anything that tried to take whats ours.

The only difference is,,we have proved it.
No wonder the English whined about Korea,,it was under your leadership,,and you screwed it up..you did'nt defeat the north koreans..you built a fence with the biggest minefield ever to keep them out.
Thats the act of a pussy..you could'nt finnish the job...useless.

We should admit we have a daft leader of this country and get the hell out of over there. I cannot get over all these fools who believe we have the right to " promote democracy" by invading and killing those who live in sovereign countries. Talk about a stupid supremacy complex at work. They have the right to war within their country and determine who is the leader. Bush was the stupidest man on earth when he made us go to Iraq who had nothing to do with 9/11 to remove Saddam who had nothing to do with 9/11. "War on Terror" my #@%, he was after oil control and he has embedded this great country of ours in a religious war that has raged in that region for over 2000 years. What an IDIOT!!!!!!! D'oh! dunno dropping jaw

Yeah, maybe it's because no one else will step up and help.

I'm confused.. are you more concerened with soldiers dying?
Or, do you just think that the US. should just be selfish and sit on our high seats while others suffer?

And I didn't say, they never ate before we got there.. It's just that MORE people have meals now.

I do not often comment on the game of politics.

Frankly I think that we need to get out.

There's been too much innocent blood spilled.

We are not an empire.
We are not Rome.
