Do not and I repeat do not.......sweat the small stuff. Try doing things you enjoy and when you are around these people I know it is hard mentally not to let that rub off on you. But it is a conscious decision that each of us makes about what we allow to effect and control us. Get a headphone set and listen to lively, upbeat, inspiration music and drown out the negative brain waves....when you feel the negativity starting to creep in..sing a song in your head, tell yourself you are pushing it away, go for a walk and inhale some fresh air deeply and refresh your brain and you senses. Little things make a bigger difference than you might think.wink

not always.... but it sounded good, eh? I gave you a lousy ass answer...Im sorry.
It is very difficult when those around you are bummed alot...gets really old really fast. The best thing to do is try to limit your exposure to them, but not have them feel you have abandoned them. It is a tough spot to be in...I am sorry. I know it is hard to deal with.
Yeah it is hard to deal, mainly because these people are the ones closest to me (family members/close friends). It's getting to the point where I dread and get agitated at the thought of going anywhere near them - and I don't like having that feeling at all. dunno I try to give support, but the support system in my family has always been greatly lacking... dunno

Thanks, again. hug

I thank you.
Think about a movie that made you laugh yourself to tears..that always helps me..maybe watching a tried and true funny movie will help you overcome the funky moods. I remember the scene from the Adams Family movie where they stuck Wednesday and that little boy in the happy room with all those sickenly sweet sappy movies and they told her she couldn't come out till she smiled........that is enough to give me a mental smile cause I've felt that way before!!LOL

...so depressed!

Okay...so lately everyone around me, and those that I pretty much "have" to be around, has been/is majorly bummed out and depressed. I try to be upbeat, positive, and even limit my exposure when I can, but...it's starting to wear on me. Now, I'm finding myself getting all bummed out, depressed, and even irritated - because everyone else around me is!!!!!!!! Is there really anything I can do, besides try to not let it get to me (which isn't working very well)???

don't entertain negative conversations, change the subject or simply walk away/ disappear into the foglaugh
