We are never promised anything in this life...only to live and die. This whole subject is atheisms (no offense B...I respect your feelings here buddy) most powerful weapon against Christianity. Without any objective evidence upon which to base their claim and atheist will simply retort "there is no God".

While undoubtedly there is much evil in this world, there is also more good, just open your eyes and look around you for the things you are thankful for.

Jesus Christ was the only truly innocent and righteous man in history, but that didn't mean he didn't escape suffering, in fact he suffered most.

Suffering in this world (For Christians) will make us realize the needs for our salvation and this in turns makes us turn back towards our faith in God.

As a Christian, I believe that God is loving and merciful, even when he allows trials and suffering to become a part of my life. It tests my faith, makes me stronger and brings me closer to God.

God never promised there would be no pain and suffering in this world, but he did provide us with the foundations for handling the pain and suffering that we experience.

I heard and see innocent people die. I feel bad about it. If God exists, then why God let innocent people die? Or there is really no God at all. We just exist accidently by chance.
Hmm ... how do you know they are inoccent? You do not look inside of their soul and mind. All what you read or hear is relative .... No one ever will tell the truth if that truth is ugly.

Anyway ... yea ... children are innocent little kids, babies I mean.

My thought on your question is ... Everything in Universe has a purpose ...

Life is the beggining of death
Death is the beggining of life.

Everything happens for a reason.

Do not wonder about Why "innocent: people die. It was planned in their destiny.

911 and the bridge disasters and other disasters, chance, pure and simple. Perhaps God does warn us, but we aren`t tuned in to hear the warning.
If there's a god I'd like him to explain why my best mates wife just endured 3 years of living hell before finally succumbing to Cancer.
the doctors gave her 12 months.
This was a women that spent the best part of her life as a beautiful caring preschool teacher ( my kids included) and in her spare time was a volunteer helper at the local childrens intensive car ward.

She is the closest thing to an Angel I have met...a life cut so short.
here husband is now only a shell of his former self.blues

I'm truly sorry for the loss...that is very sad and so tragic.

“For we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose” Romans 8:28

She has truly went on to a better place, hard to believe through your pain right now. But there are no words to comfort you for the loss you have experienced, for that I am truly sorry.comfort

Six million Jews have asked themselves the same question. If you'd ask one of the few Survivors still alive today,if the'd found an answer;they will most likely reply to you in the negative.Somethings have got no answer.Heck,we dont even know the question to some.
Just have to let it go and live with it.
Thats the alternative uh oh! mumbling blues moping hole

Some, but not as much as I had hoped.

While we can agree on some issues, I doubt that we could agree very far on much. But it`s good to focus on common ground.

I am sorry for the lost of such a good person... my father passed away with lung cancer, a very loving person. I had a hard time with his passing.... My brother died 2 years ago, he was in great health and he was gone....we are not promised but the second that we are living..

Another thing , one of my sons friends was shot and killed in my front yard, was it the fault of God or the one who pulled the trigger? I could go on about death, but we all are born to die.... to live the life we have chosen then we leave as we came.....JMO

No not shocking when you have people who can discuss differences with an open mind and adult mature attitude.

Amazing how many friends we can make outside of our own little bubble.

I'm sorry....You can quote lines from some book until you're blue in the face with me.
When "god" , not some preacher with his hand out appears in front of my eyes and explains all the suffering in the world...you'll all be the first to know.

cheers

I think the real question everyone should be asking, rather than questioning God, Is why are we here? What is the purpose of human life on this earth. Is there a purpose? Are we merely here to live and die?

when i look at the world i do not see
a planet as a whole loving the Creator.

we focus collectively on the moment
feelings, stimuli, bank accounts, competition.

rarely do the nations of the world in unity
thank God.

i hear the blame passed to Him when things go bad..
but the good it seems more like.
its because of our works.

God allows the world to spin and our lives,
we choose much of what happens.

it is His creations that have lost focus on Him.
He has been replaced with science and self.
the science of today will change tomorrow..
God does not change.

as long as the world only sees self ..
then we are the creators of our own hell..
not God...

no one ever said the world is heaven ..
but my spirit tells me there is one...

so if i get one thing right in life
i ask for the courage and strength to give thanks in all circumstance.
and when things get tough to stand with those that hurt
in this we honor God

in this humility we will see the glory of God...

I can only speak from my heart and from what I have learned from personal experience.

If you have these questions and grief, for that I am truly sorry. My best advice to you is to seek out the answers to this situation that will offer you peace and resolution. Everyone deals with grief differently, again I am sorry about your pain, confusion and loss.
