Why do people lie about their age??

whenever some asks my age, and i tell them i'm 30, they alway say that they think i was a lot younger. just yesterday a guy thought i was 22. i still get carded at most bars and liquor stores.

imo, age is only a number, if someone feels they have to lie about it, then they just aren't comfortable with the truth, and are trying to be someone they are not.

imo, age is only a number, if someone feels they have to lie about it, then they just aren't comfortable with the truth, and are trying to be someone they are not.

Please do not misunderstand me. I have no problem with a guy being in his late 60's. What the heck I am 54, so I am not that far away from my 60's. However, when a guy tells me he is in his early 50's and posts a pic depicting him to be that age with brown hair and claiming to be tall and trim, then shows up and he is ten to fifteen years older with grey or thinning hair and much shorter, that is deceitful and lying. I have no issues with older guys, grey hair, thinning hair, or even shorter men, but once a guy misrepresents himself, I feel he is a liar and that is the problem.

I was 52 in Jan.,I had a son in august of 73.I at times wish my body looked like it did at 30,but I'm proud to be where I am.I have seen so much,grown in wisdom,settled a wild temper,and have alot of goals left and living to do.I feel and sometimes act 20-30 but I make no excuse for it.I'm a good person and I'm okay at 52.

I don't get why people lie about their age. Me personally I want to be with someone around the same age as me anyway, but I guess there are those who want to be with someone younger or older. Either way I haven't been lied to when it comes to that anyway, but then again in order to be lied to, I must get emailed by someone first.

Well excluding the scammers anyway, but that too is another thread and I haven't even heard from any of them in months.
