Ambrose . is a tough cookie. You can't pull the wool over Ambrose's eyes and you had better not try! Ambrose was born under the sign of the crab and he can deliver a very nasty nip! Cancerians may not be the fiercest creatures in the zodiac but they are blessed with a brilliant set of self-defence mechanisms. They have impenetrable armour and sharp, scary claws. Ambrose's shell is especially strong. He won't let anyone come anywhere near to his heart unless he knows for sure that they mean no harm. His impeccable instincts inform him of this and alert him to act accordingly. This is why the world around Ambrose is divided into two sorts of people - those who don't know quite what to make of him and those who have been fortunate enough to meet the real Ambrose ..

The real Ambrose . is soft, kind, caring, loving and giving. So soft, so kind, so special as to deserve a sainthood. All praise to 'Saint Ambrose the Caring.' 'Saint Ambrose the Caring.' It has a ring to it does it not? It is fair comment, is it not? Indeed it is, as all who know the true nature of Ambrose will willingly and eagerly confirm. There's only one problem with being a saint. It is what it does to your ego. Ambrose . is a true saint and true saints are not just naturally loving and compassionate, they are also naturally humble. But true saints have a tendency to turn into martyrs. Sometimes, just sometimes, Ambrose can be a little too good for his own good.

Damn. And I'm still struggling to spell fallacious....rolling eyes

St. Ambrose. I kind of like the sound of that. But one disagreement -- I really prefer making *other* people into martyrs, if you know what I mean. Must be my innate altruism?

I am Sagittarius, moon in Virgo, Scorpio rising and a rabbit in the Chinese system, yin, metal.
bajanblue . is a great intellectual. She is also a great adventurer, a great party animal, a great judge of character, a great conversationalist, a great comedian, a great philosopher and a great self publicist. Indeed, bajanblue . is rather of the opinion that if anything in this world is 'great' it must have her name on it and if it isn't, maybe she will try it anyway and make it great by the simple act of lending her name to it. bajanblue is a Sagittarian and there are two things that no Sagittarian can resist. The first is a challenge. The second is a tendency to exaggerate. Therefore whatever bajanblue . sets out to accomplish in this world must be: a) difficult and b) big. Why set out to climb a piffling little hill like Everest when there are mountains on Mars that are truly steep? All you need is a rope, a pick and a spaceship. In bajanblue's mind, this (or something not far from it) represents a perfectly logical thought process. Who cares whether she actually manages to get to Mars? She will have fun trying and at least, if she tells enough people that this is her plan, nobody will ever think of her as boring.

Here we have the essence of bajanblue .'s biggest secret fear. bajanblue . is absolutely terrified that one day someone will rumble her. She will be revealed as an ordinary person who thinks ordinary thoughts. Oh shame of shames, what will she do then? To keep this dreadful possibility at bay, bajanblue will go to any length, she will climb any mountain (even if it does happen to be on Mars) and she will swim any sea (even if she can't swim yet - she'll learn how to one of these days - you just wait and see). Or perhaps, more realistically (but only a bit) bajanblue will set out to prove that she really is a great intellectual\adventurer\philosopher etc. etc. Much to everyone's surprise (including her own) in the fullness of time... it will all turn out to be true!

Autum..

Autum . is the last of the great eccentrics. The funny thing is, she doesn't know it. She thinks her behaviour is perfectly normal. She sees herself as a pillar of propriety and a paragon of protocol. Autum has strong views about every topic under the sun. There's not a subject she doesn't know about or a moral point she can't pontificate on. Autum is entitled to be a little arrogant. She knows an awful lot about an awful lot of things. She is well versed, well rehearsed, and deeply immersed in the kind of knowledge that we lesser mortals can only dream of attaining. Thankfully, she is there to shed the light and show the way. This, she does generously and patiently, as befits a person of superior intellect. Autum . is wise, intelligent and (thankfully) oblivious to irony.

Or, at least, that's how Autum . is, at her worst. She can't help it. She's an Aquarian and Aquarians are infamous for their occasional outbursts of pomposity. Happily there is another truly delightful side to her. Autum is as honest as the day is long, as generous as the ocean is deep. This is partly where the eccentricity comes from, for a person with such strong opinions Autum is surprisingly willing to please. she is keen to win friends and influence people. She loves to feel that she belongs. She always wants to be in on the action, part of the scene and one of the gang. Rather like Groucho Marx though, she is never sure that she would want to be part of any club that would a member. She is always on the lookout for some new cause to support, or enterprise to sign up to. You might think that this would make her fickle but actually Autum is exceedingly loyal. She may be forever expanding her horizons but she never forgets her friends and she never reneges on her commitments. This is why, despite the highly idiosyncratic nature of Autum's personality, so many people think the world of her.
