Poisoning their own well

Just for kicks, I browsed some of the do-nothing dating sites. I found something which I used to think was funny, but now I realize it's true.

Ever heard of SWANS (strong women achievers, no spouse)? Their profiles keep popping up on different dating sites. I recognized one from the dating circuit 2 years ago, says she earns a 6-figure salary and is desperate to have kids (she's now 39). From what she says about herself in her profile, she has set the bar impossibly high for most men. I think this woman has little chance of meeting her ideal date, never mind that she's in the center of a city which has a severe shortage of single women. It's the same story with a lot of women whose profiles I see---they're poisoning their own well, and I speak as a publisher who owns a woodworking business and a house with 2 vacant bedrooms.

I can at least say one positive thing about SWANS... when they get too old to bag a husband, they'll be able to afford any home health care nurse they want.

Well, at least they do not wish to lay around on their lazy butts watching soaps, getting fat and being taken care of..

They can afford new batteries and visit a sperm bank..applause

Good afternoon SciFiGuy. wave

These women may be poisoning their own well with the profiles they list, but that seems to be the type of profiles men look at first. Otherwise how do you recognise so many of them. It could be they want the really wealthy men to contact them so they post their high acheavements. True profiles or not, if they wanted to get responses they would tweek what was written from time to time. Now the profile you mentioned has been the same for a long time, tells me either she has found someone and forgot to remove the profile, she is playing around, or she is getting the responses she desires due to tweeking and many guys, may like what she wrote.

I don't really know. This is just my opinion. I do know that honesty on profiles doesn't seem to work to well.

Maybe honesty is poisoning the wells. wave

I realize this is slightly OT but why don't you rent out those 2 bedrooms to a couple of cute college coeds? Maybe you could even teach them woodworking.cool

When they become wealthy successful business women they could pick your retirement home for you. Maybe even give you sponge baths now & then.........Nah, more likely they would hire a matronly Eastern European butch who would grab you by the tassle and lift your middle clear off the bed and slip a bedpan under your bottom when you had to do your foul business. rolling on the floor laughing

Strangely Sci-fi guy i have observed you observe women and analyze them more than required .... dunno

Initially you said you were happy , then you said you were single by choice , one day you posted that if you really wanted to you could buy a woman from a third world country and today you call successfull women that is what you mean i guess .. SWANS ...unable to bag a husband when they grow old etc.....

As i have noticed there r a lot of men quite old ( with due respect ) looking for a partner on dating websites..... so are they too old to bag a woman and good for nothing but health care ?

And what if these women do stay single ... the earth doesnt stop rotating they dont jump off the london bridge nor they go around date shopping ...

Maybe the fact that they are SWANS ... they can still take care of themselves anyways.... especially when they r too old .. so dear sci fi guy ... dont bother too much about the women in this world ... they can take care of themselves even when they r single ....

( This is not intended to the male population in general !!!! )
