There's lot's of 'I won't settle for less than what I'm worth' etc...the kinda 'I'M WORTH IT!' mind set.
Of course, we need to be wary of not falling into destructive relationshps, but are we placing too much emphasis on what WANT, as opposed to what we intend to GIVE?
Good question Detente, as always!
Sometimes I think I don't "expect" (or rather look for) much at all, sometimes it seems I am "expecting" too much after all... I don't know, I consider myself extremely flexible (and do take chances), and yet there are some core things without which I would not even enter a relationship. I'm not looking for just a nice guy to share my apartment with - I really still CAN live by myself and be very happy. I'm looking for someone to sweep me off my feet, figuratively speaking... I want to admire the person I'm with, to be his biggest fan, and to know that he is just as strong as I am, so I can be a lady (as opposed to a driver, translator, provider, secretary etc etc etc to him). In addition to that there are the basic criteria that are listed on my profile. (And you don't see any exterior qualities listed there) Is that a lot? Probably....

But I know that it's not impossible.
I actually do need to remind myself in a way that "I'm worth it"... Otherwise, been there, done that, but the next time WILL be different for me, or there won't be a next time at all...
Again, very good question, thank you.
