Well Dougie my friend it is never to late.
When I was about 15 (centuries ago) the kid across the street was out stringing a wire from his house to a tree. I went over to what he was doing. He said he had just received his "ham" ticket in the mail

I said what is a "ham" ticket?
Inside we went, I watched and listened as he sent code on a little homebrew transmitter and listened to his Hallicrafters receiver. All in awe. Well, life happens, joined the Army, jumped oput of perfectly good airplanes, married, diverced, race cars, career, women

, etc.....
I got kicked into retirement in 97, moved to Sun (Sin) City, AZ in 99. They guy behind me was a ham (still is) W7VPL. I told him my story, that old buzzard grabbed ahold me and dind't let go until I got my ticket. And yes, I also went the "Children's Band" for a period of time.
It is NEVER to late to do ANYTHING...................
