Why? who the hell knows! It's just a hole in my skill set.
If you can Gas Weld it's no problem to go to TIG-Welding.

So I've heard conrad, I guess that foot pedal takes some getting used to though. You are obviously well versed in the skill.thumbs up

Gilly, TIG stands for Tungston Inert Gas. It's similar to arc welding except it uses a Tungston electrode that doesn't melt to form the weld instead you use what they call a filler rod. It's slow but it produces some of the prettiest welds you'll ever see. It's very popular in aircraft, aerospace work and race car preperation.

MIG statnds for Metal Inert Gas. It differs from TIG in that the electrode is a wire that feeds directly through the handle which supplies the filler metal. It's 10X faster than TIG and is probably the most popular type of welding for production work.
