lol...yeah...been around awhile. The strictness was ok when I was a teenager, but once I became an adult it seemed to me that what I wore or didn't wear should be my own conviction. Can you imagine as a teenager in Hawaii having to wear a t-shirt over your swim suit? And for girls it had to be a one piece. The boys had to wear a t-shirt with their swim trunks.

To this day I wear a dress/skirt to church even though the majority of women in the church I currently go to wear pants (& some wear shorts in the summer)...I just can't bring myself to do that for a church service....but skating, hiking, bowling, car wash...I dress appropriately for me...lol
I know wht you mean back than we were in the long chain on the wallet fad. I went to church had it on forgot to take it off.. they really freaked out .. i just saw where so many looked down at you cause you may wear r talk different .. and you know bad thing about it most was my aunts and cousins...

Christian here and proud of it! I don't push it down other people's throats or judge others when I have faults of my own, but I certainly don't shy away from the fact that I love and know Jesus as my friend and Savior. I am a member of the United Methodist Church, but I feel as long as you believe that Jesus is the true Son of God it doesn't matter what denomination you belong to; we're all rooting for the same teamangel Girls in my area seem to find Christianity a turnoff, but I feel I'll find someone when it's time for me too and not before. Maybe here!love

I think some people think talking about the bible is bible thumping... i love talking about the bible because i just do. i am not out to preach or convert, but i'll defend my faith and I am not afraid to say what i know to be the truth... sometimes people automatically draw the wrong kind of conclusions in their minds regarding Christianity and think all Christians are out to convert when they just enjoy reading the words of God and enjoy talking about it. i think some people have many misconcemptions based on their own barriors in their own minds on the matter of God and Christians but i still go own talking about Him. i really enjoy talking about Jesus.... falsy accussing as if i have alterior motives is a turn off though but very enlightning to see such human frailities .... Just sharing thats all....peace

that is really to bad. people shouldn't make you feel different but sometimes that seems to be the way but i have been doing well in my church it seems...i don't let anyone put a stamper on my enjoyment in church. that is one thing I have learned on my quest for God... no matter what someone does they can't take that away from me....no matter how hard someone may try... You can get pretty good at ignoring those kind of people in some churches and practically anywhere for that matter too...

and proud to say a happy one not a burdened follwer of the fire and brimstone brigade.

some may not believe it, but i have sen miracles and blessing that have gone far and above coincedence or scientifically explainable.

and have no time for those who would judge before they travel along with thier victim of judging...

so no debate here just a Love and Belief that i have a saviour and a he is the son of God and without him i never stood a chance to begin with.
so I'am thankful for the price that was paid on my account.

Count me in as well. He showed me how to live free, how to love unconditionally and how to stand strong in the truth.

It is good to see people raising their hands for Him.

The religious community of his day are partialy responsible for his death , because he spoke against their rituals and said they needed to acknowledging the spirit _____ sounds pretty spiritual to me wave

seems to me there have been some such 'conversations' lately
but they deteriorate quickly
when some attempt to elevate themselves as teachers or preachers

we all have gifts
but we none have all the gifts

jesus really tried to teach the disciples to be gentle of spirit and love everyone
not just their christian brothers and sisters

he also warned that the sadacees and such,
praying on the corner with their prayer boxes on their heads,
were receiving their reward right there
people would see them pray
that would be the only reward...

so that seems to be a warning against certain behaviors
that are surely different than simply sharing your conversion...

it works best as attraction, not promotion
and i think we can tell by listening to non believers
that such prosyletising behavior seems arrogant, and not welcoming
it doesnt create an atmosphere of feeling safe enuf to confess...

unbelievers cannot surrender if they feel forced or frightened
(which He would never want) or 'not as good as'

if we want to discuss satan tearing apart the church
this is what he is doing...inspiring shouters of many messages,
non unity, and ungentleness towards non believers

thumbs up

Display your beliefs through good conduct, reason when given the oppurtunity, and leave people to make their own choice.

It really is THAT simple.

All this fire and brimstone crap distorts what is in fact a peaceful creed.

Sadly, we have to seperate the believer from the belief all too often!wine
