Dear lady I take no offence, I am overly wordy but I fear that we may lose the entirety of our vocabulary to emoticons one day and I would miss all those precious words.
As for your height, you come across as a woman of great stature dear Konigsberg, like 12 feet tall, I have spoken with you before and remember feeling quite small. Hehehehehe

Mark
and as usualy you are right ... I see the grain of wisdom in your thought.

Hopefully the poll feature will mean the end for immotive or threads that can be taken offensively.

Lets hope people debate as well and not just vote, i'll cross fingers, a leap forward.

Well done sitethumbs up

Perhaps all polls should be on one separate page all to themselves...

Hi Eupho...!! waving santa

Yeah, we might learn about some of the viewpoints but, not forgetting that the statistics only reflect the opinions of those that vote, not all members on the Forums. And we don't know WHO has voted, necessarily, do we?

Mind you, some you are able to guess at (if they had voted), for example..... Male 41+ decided that sexual behaviour was the thing that would first/most attract him to a member of the opposite sex...?? Ahhh, c'mon.....!!! rolling on the floor laughing

The only drawback I envisage is that whereby through ONLY posting one's viewpoints and debating, one could assess whether one was attracted to, was smitten with, on the same wavelength as, felt connected with, distanced themselves from, etc. It's all about personalities, isn't it? Of course, we can't do that with anonymous voting, can we?

Still......an interesting and fun feature!! yay

This is to introduce the new opinion polls feature we have added for you at Connecting Singles.

CS Polls is a new connecting tool on the site that allows you to post a question along with several multiple choice answers in a poll format, and get opinions from members about things that interest you. The polls may also provide interesting topics for discussion in the forums.

Enter a question with up to 10 multiple-choice answers. Each time a member votes on your poll, the total counts will be updated and the poll results will display on a bar graph. Polltakers will have the choice to enter a formal comment to the poll question in the Polls area and, in some cases, to enter discussion about the poll topic in a poll forum thread. Polls are easy to use and pretty much self-explanatory. You'll learn the features as you go along.

You can create a poll either to appear in the Forums like this one ( where it is open for discussion here), or you can create a poll to appear only in the formal Polls area (open for comments there only).

To start a poll that WILL appear in the Forums for discussion:
Click the new "CREATE POLL" button at the top right of the forum page, next to "New Thread".
Polltakers may vote directly in the first post of a poll thread.

To start a poll that will NOT appear in the Forums:
Click the "POLLS" link in the top navigation bar.
Comments may be entered in this Polls area only.

After several polls have been entered, you may find an interesting poll created by another member that is not appearing in the forum. If you think that poll would lead to good forum discussion, you may move the poll into the Forum by clicking a link on the poll's comment page that says "Start Forum Discussion".

Voting:
Voting on polls is anonymous, usernames are not listed. Click on the "Vote Breakdown" link underneath a poll to see how the voting on that poll is broken down by gender and age.

To see the results of the poll in this or any thread:
Click on the "Results" tab and it will show you a bar graph of the voting. Click on the "Poll" tab to cast your vote.

We hope this is an interesting addition to the site and that you will find thought-provoking questions and topics to enter, comment on, and discuss.

Happy Holidays

this polls sounds funthumbs up

santa We’re happy to see that many of you like the new opinion polls

In response to some of your questions:

I’d like to enter a poll just to gather the resulting numbers and more serious feedback. Does my poll HAVE to appear in the forum?

No, it doesn’t. All polls are available to be voted on by all members. But NOT all polls have to be forum polls... it's up to each poll author. You can create a poll either to appear in the Forums (where it is open for discussion here), OR you can create a poll to appear only in the formal Polls area (open for comments there only). You should not create duplicates.

We created these two options because some authors may want to keep their poll in the Polls area where comments may be more serious, more focused and less likely to go off topic than a forum poll might be (did I say hijack?), while other poll authors may prefer the more active, casual discussion of their poll in a forum thread.

Can I know which polls I have already have voted on?

Yes. Click POLLS in the top nav bar. Notice the two tabs above each poll (POLL and RESULTS).
If you have not voted on the poll, you will be shown the POLL tab first.
If you have already voted on that poll, the RESULTS tab will be open. So you can just scroll down the page and vote on any that the POLL tab is open on. As soon as you vote, the tab will turn over to RESULTS. If you want to see the poll again after you vote, you can click the POLL tab. Also on that page, there is a link to see how the votes break down based on gender and age. We think you will find this interesting.

Another way to see your polls is to click on the “MY POLLS” link. There you will see 2 links (MY POLLS CREATED and MY POLLS TAKEN).
- - - - - - - - - -

Where can I see a plain list of the polls?

To view a list of ALL the polls that have been entered by ALL members– click ALL POLLS
To view the polls that YOU have entered or taken- click MY POLLS
(These links are located in your side or your top nav, depending on the forum you use.)

Yes, some flooding has occurred… but be PATIENT, things will settle down after everyone gets a chance to try out the new feature.

Some members had trouble with quoting a post this morning. That bug has been exterminated.

I like it but think it would be better with it's own section. Maybe it would be cool if it ran like the forums as far as last voted or posts??
