Sorry Conrad, but a direct description with facts about an abortion procedure is hardly emotionalism.

not having any options besides abortion is also our doing,.... we could rectify that and provide options. making it illegal would also control the mishaps of unwanted pregnancies. now we think about saving the womens lives and putting an end to a new innocent life.... for reason of not wanting it.
There are already lots of options or ways to avoid abortion. Keeping ones pants on, contraceptives and adoption are just a few and those are already made available to everyone. I don't see how it's our doing that such things are not available.

And, I seriously doubt making abortion illegal would control unwanted pregnancies anymore than making alcohol illegal during prohibition controlled people from drinking or the drug laws control illegal drug use.

I vote clearly for !

I can deal with reality and life offers many shocking truths.

As long as a women cannot have her free choice whether to become pregnant or not it must be allowed to abort (in HER choice).

why should a young girl believe an unwanted pregnancy can ruin her future ? we need options for that thought. no one wants to be stuck with a pregnancy you don't want and can't do anything about, abortion only creates the avenue for more unprotected sex.

I am definately against abortion! I think a woman should have the right to decide, but I know how they do them, and its a horrible thing to do.

This part is very graphic, so beware if you are weak at the stomach, please dont read this part... It still makes me so very sad to even think about...And there may be other ways now, this was a few years ago... VERY GRAPHIC WORDS BELOW BEWARE!!!

If the baby is young enough in term, they inject saline solution into the amnotic fluid, and though the baby may not have limbs yet, it can be seen trying to pull away from this solution because it actually burns it from inside out until it dies. Then if the baby is to the point where it has to be delivered, they deliver everything except the head, stick a pair of scizzor like tools into the base of its skull and open them, the baby is moving the whole time trying to get free, once the tool is opened, they stick a vacuum into the scull and suck out the babies brains, this is when he/she finally stops moving...
I know that was a horrible thing to inform you all on, but I felt that maybe some of you didnt know how this was done, and maybe once you learned how cruel it is that you would change your mind on this subject.

Just to let you know a little about my background and why I have the right to post about this... I was 15 when I .... well lets just say I was pregnant, no need in the details of how it happened, but I considdered that abortion was an option, until they told me what they actually do. I knew then that I could never do this to a child, even one that hadnt been born yet. I could feel my son in my stomach, and there was no way thet I could go through with an abortion... My son is now about to be 8 yrs old, and I thank God every day that I have him and didnt make the biggest mistake of my life by aborting him... I would have felt bad about that for the rest of my life.

There are circumstances where it may be necessary though, if the baby is going to have an uncureable disease, or severely deformed to the point where he or she wouldnt have a good quality of life, but those are very extreme situations, and I pray that I am never put into that position.

Sorry if this offended anyone, it wasnt my point, I just wanted to leave a little background as to why I am against it so I dont have anyone jumping down my throat about it...

I think there are probably women reading this who for whatever reason have had an abortion.
It is not for anyone here to judge and for that reason I think a little more tact would be a good idea.

I think it should be a womans choice, but I also believe that any woman considdering it should be told exactly what they do to that child when they abort it. It is not hard to be pregnant, and for someone who is willing to have an abortion, it is probably easier on your mind to just adopt the baby to someone who will love it and care for it. There are hundreds of thousands of people who would love nothing more than to have a baby, but they are unable to do so, these ppl would love the chance to adopt some of these unwanted babies. I just think a woman should think carefully about this situation before making any decisions. There are far too many options besides abortion to choose from in which the baby is not brutally murdered.

I am not judging anyone, I am pro choice, and it is the womans right to decide what goes on with her body. Given that, I do think it is a good idea for any woman to be informed on this subject, had I not been, chances are likely I would have gone through with it...
As for tack, I already apologized when I wrote it, and I stated before the graphic details that they were graphic and for ppl to beware of the content below. This is something I think should be known about, and if I get that point across to one person who changes their mind about having an abortion, then I will be doing some good I think.
As for anyone I offended, again, I am sorry, but I already said that earlier. Its not a subject I like, in fact, it is a horrible subject that makes me sick thinking about, but still one I felt I should speak up on since I have been through some things with it. No offence intended...

I am sure that a woman is informed about her options. They are here in Ireland and abortion is only legal if the mother's life is in danger. Irish women have to travel to u.k. They have to find the fare and then when they come home some of them don't tell their g.p. which means that there is no follow up, in case of infection etc.
Very few women use abortion as a contraceptive and any woman I know who had one did so because she, for whatever reason felt she had to. It is not up to anyone to tell a woman that she should do this or that.
Again I ask you to use tact in your language. You say it should be a womans choice and then say the baby is brutally murdered.
You never know what situation any of us will find ourselves in, so don't judge.

I don't know. Why would anyone tell a woman that an unwanted pregnancy would ruin her future? I mentioned adoption as an alternative. Some will choose to go that route some will not regardless what our personal, moral values are.

Well that is your opinion.
And like I said you never know what situation tomorrow will bring.
You know ordinary everyday women find themselves at these clinics.
They are no different to anyone else.
So when you find yourself pregnant through rape, incest or you have no job, money or food to feed the kids you have. maybe if you were 14 and were scared out of your mind. Maybe the father of your child is slapping you around or you have a drug or drink problem.
Maybe if you walked in someone's elses shoes and had to go through a pregnancy alone, maybe, just maybe you might say that it is a woman's right to choose

If there is a good reason for having the abortion such as the mothers health or the babys health, then in that case I would considder it mercy, not murder. I am not against abortion, nor am I judging anyone. I dont however think that a person who has an abortion just because they either dont want a kid or dont want to be pregnant is being merciful, but just cruel. I know that there are some reasons in which an abortion is necessary, and in those situations, I am sure the dr is probably more sympathetic, and they probably do a lot of things differently.
And I know what situations I have been in, and they werent any kind of prime conditons, I can assure you that, despite everything that happened to me, I had my son, and have single handedly raised him.
I know people have good reasons for having abortions, and like I said I am for the right for them to have the choice to do so. But I am not going to change my mind, nor am I going to regret what I stated previously. I will appologise AGAIN that I offended you and anyone else who may be offended, but still I have gotten a couple of responces into my mail that said a thank you for stating what really happens. So no I will not appologise for putting information on a thread about that subject that others may not know. It is a discussion, and my points fall under this discussion. And as I already said, if this helps anyone to not have an abortion- barring anything going wrong with the pregnancy, baby or mother, then I am still glad to have posted it...

Once again, sorry to you that it offended you, but I did write that the info was graphic... and yes if it an abortion just because someone doesnt want to have their baby, I do considder it murder, thats my opinion, and I am entitled to it!

Cassie, I thought you did a good job at warning people of its content. You showed one side of the many issues surrounding this debate in as nice a manner as could be done.

There are of course a great many other issues to consider.

I was 15, I was raped, I was beaten, I was drugged, you name it, and the chances are, my pregnancy included it! But I still had my son, so you maybe should stop and think about trying to convince me about my opinion because it will not change, ever. I am sorry about my tact, but this is something that hits close to home for me, and if I can have my son through everything I was put through by someone who was 10 years older than me, then I dont think anyone can use that as an excuse for having an abortion. At least no a very good one in my books. I quit school, I got a job, I raised my son on my own. His "father" not one time in almost 8 years has helped me out. I have done this all on my own, with no help, so please dont pull that card again. Its not the childs fault that the mother isnt strong enough to deal with the curve ball that life threw her...
I love my son, and I will love him forever, he is Gods gift to me, and that child has changed my life in ways you will never know or understand. I am a much stronger person having him where I would be a depressed mess without him! Abortion is not a good thing. If the mothers life is in jeopardy, considdering it is an option, but my sister just delivered her daughter a month early despite the dr telling her it would kill her and the baby if they didnt terminate at three months. She made it to 8 and a half months before her blood pressure probs caused pre term labor, but she was willing to give her life for her child, especially after four miscarrages... There are many excuses for an abortion, and there are very few good reasons for one. God creates life, and God should be the one to decidewhen to take life away!!
